Hello Anne in Perth, It is now 44 degrees and I have taken your advise. Wetting my wrists with ice water and have a wet towel hanging around my neck. It does help as I use the towel to clean my face. Last year we lost one third of our forests to fire and they are aflame again. Once again it is raining ash! There are very few people in our area who do not have swimming pools. I was stupid enough to knock of their doors and tell them that we have left the security gate open for those who may feel the need to use the pool. Only to be met with a very icy welcome... Why I bother I really don't know... I need to take care of my Bully who is not feeling so good. Thank you for your tips. Lindy;-)) |

I know what it like, it can get pretty hot in Perth in the summer, but now we have air con so I can cook and iron in the cool, try a wet towel around your neck, and cold water on your wrists.ANN |

Hi Everyone, it is now 38 degrees! Maggy, Who in their right mind would brag about this heat and yes I am complaining. I have just been downstairs for another swim. The water is tepid and the more time spent in the pool the more hungry I get. I am trying to loose some weight...oh well! The heat wave is supposed to last until Tuesday. I feel for the people in the interior as they are having weather in the high 40's Susie, Bully is doing fine thank you very much for the tips. She seems to love the "Lemon Jiffy" We hosed her down with the garden hose which she did not like, and we are leaving th back door open as this heat is unbearable. Valley, I made curried crab two nights ago so you are not that far off..lol... Today I made Octopus salad for Victor and I and steaks and chips for the boys. Sandra, With this heat I walk around in a costume doing housework. For some reason costumes only last for one season. I suppose that it is the salt water so I have a few that I cannot swim in but use around the house. Derek, The last time I had a "San Miguel" was in Spain. The problem is the more beer you drink the more you want, so in between beers I drink litres of cold water...."honest". Christine, If I could I would change places as this heat is unbearable! It is cooler downstairs so I think I shall sleep on the sofa tonight. What is it about the weather that seems to get worse every year, or am I just getting older? Lindy:-((( |

Not sure whether you are bragging or complaining Lindy! Would be far too hot for me. I was in Madrid a month ago and the temperature was 40/45 degrees, and was unbearable. They don't even have any sea in Madrid to cool off in! Maggy |

We are in a middle of a heatwave, a hot wind is coming from the South which is from North Africa. That means Spain is even hotter then here. I have just changed into my costume to do the cooking. I really don't care if I look like a beached whale.....I shall be dipping into the pool in between making food. Lol....Lindy;-))))) |
