Bella Donna, Thanks for that suggestion. I've even looked through the Avon catalogue, but there's nothing like it. Isn't it funny how you associate memories of people with scent? My gran always wore Youth Dew, and that's my favourite perfume. Louise

My mum used to buy a pot of perfumed cream from Avon that had a swan on the top. I remember being small and loving the smell, must have been during the 1960's/70's Louise

I remember reading Twinkle and Bunty, and later Jackie. And the mention of Spangles - there were so many different varieties! I remember the sweet bananas and shrimps and flying saucers! I know they've started making these again, but they're not the same. Does anyone remember the packets of chocolate cigarettes you used to be able to buy- each individual cigarette covered in paper, that you had to peel off before you could eat it! Then there were little white chocolate mice and blackjacks and fruit salads and mo-jo's! Broke a tooth completely in half once on a mojo! I remember my nan with her 'stays' (horrific looking girdle thingy) and her bloomers, together with my grandad's long johns! Do people still wear them??? Also, I had my Tressy with her 'magic hair' and I had a tiny tears and Tippy Tumbles (a doll that did sommersaults (is that spelt right? Sorry if it isn't). There was also a packet pudding mix you used to be able to buy - it was like a sponge cake mix - you put it in a pyrex bowl, spinkled some crystalised something or other on it and cooked it - when it was cooked there was the sponge on top and a syrup at the bottom - I thought this was brilliant as a child. Then there was the Izal loo paper,before the soft stuff came in - ouch! Whittering away with great memories - Jan

Hi Buttercup Oh yes would love to have some more, it use to make me laugh when you had finished brushing your teeth, it looked like all your lifes blood was in the sink LOL I have searched and searched for this stuff, always on the lookout for it. and it was quite thick stuff to use and expensive at the time. Ive really enjoyed everybodys memories on her takes you a long way back. What happened to: Gordon Moores Cosmetic toothpaste, my mum use to go mad with me cos her sink would be red when I had finished brushing my teeth, better than the whitening stuff you get now, you could really see your white teeth. If anyone sees this toothpaste can you let me know Im really desperate for this stuff. Yvonne

BC , and Jan, I read right through this thread thinking of my mum and her Evening in Paris. She always wore it. The liqourice sticks, my granny used to give us a penny to get one, we loved them. AND Jenny........IODINE did not sting. It BURNED YOU TO DEATH!! I used to scream like a banshee when mum opened the bottle! Deanna

I had a Tressie hair salon with real hairdryer and her hair growing it was great fun, also spacedust that used to make my eyes water but you had to keep it on your tongue as long as poss. Also purses with your name on them that you wore around your neck and legwarmers hahah

Who remembers Thermogene? My Dad used to wear it on his chest when he had a bad cough. And Iron jelloids? And what about Parrish's Chemical Food? I must have had gallons of that! Sherbet Fountains? I really loved them! Cheers, Bea.

Anyone remember 'Evening in Paris' in the dark blue bottle. My Mum always had that and we used to nick it. Wish I could get liquorice wood down here in Kent. I thought that was wonderful dipped in lemon sherbet powder. Yummy. Jan :-))

Oh the memories come flooding back reading all this lot. I also use to love Aqua Manda, spangles, Armarmi setting lotion that my Mum used to use to curl her hair, Valentine girls magazine,hula hoops (not the crispy ones but the large plastic hoops we twirled around our waists.)
