I met the guy who played Mick Johnson in Brookside at the local cinema. I was standing in a long queue in the school hols and he came and asked where the queue started. I think he expected me to let him go in front. Ho ho, how wrong was he. |

I have met Bryan Adams (he was shorter than I expected but an absolute gentleman!) Level 42 (Mark King was lovely, bought me champagne!! lol) He was very down to earth and very interested in what the public thought of his music/concert etc. Ian Banks (the writer) and Gordon Brown (chancellor!!) both live up the road from me and are both very nice people. Tim Curry was a friend of my sisters years ago and I've met him, Pamela Stephenson(mrs Billy Connolly) and Michael Praed (robin hood on tv). Have met various footballers from Edinburgh area....but suppose my favourite is....Gabriella, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. She used to attend the nursery that my sister worked in down in London.(years ago) My sister and her husband have been my main points of contact with the rich and famous! Would love to meet Jon Bon Jovi...so if anyone knows him..... LOL Jill x P.S. Have you met anyone yourself?? |

One day when students (c1968), we walked along the riverbank from Putney to Teddington. As we were going into the pub next to the studios, Joe Brown and June Whitfield came out. |

I've bumped into Tom Baker (Dr. Who) lots of times. Also Joanna Lumley who is also much smaller than you'd think. Donald Sinden lives just down the road from me and waves at all the neighbours although he doesn't know me. Shirli Holliman who used to sing in Wham and is now married to Martin Kemp. Andrew Ridgeley. My brother used to drink in the pub with George Michael before he was famous, does that count? Oh, and the drummer from 10CC, what is his name, Kevin something? (Sorry Kev). Let's face it, we're all star-struck! |

Bryan I've heard of Barry John! Daniel, As a rugby fan I have met lots of rugby players, probably the ones you are most likely to have heard of are Lawrence Dallaglio, Joe Worsley, Jonny Wilkinson, though my fave was Inga Tuigamala - he has a smile to light up the universe! My husband used to play in a band so we met a few minor celebs - he once did an audition with Squeeze, and we met Glen Matlock after he'd been chucked out of the Sex Pistols - he was playing at a Jubilee Street party in 1977 - very incongruous punk musicians in front of trestle tables laden with sandwiches and cocktail sausages! I was at school with Sarah Fox-Davies who illustrates books including children's best-seller "Little Beaver & the Echo". When I worked at The Spastics Society, way back in the 1980s, I met celebs at fund-raising dos, including Arthur Askey, Bob Monkhouse, Lynda Baron (off Open All Hours), Esther Rantzen. I was also introduced to the Duke of Westminster and the Duchess of Kent. Helen |
