Why add your family name/s?

It is amazing that so many people when they are contacted don't reply, why put their family name/s to this site? It costs money to get access to their emails so a reply would be courteous whether there is a link or not. |

This is a recurring issue, Janet, and I think the only thing to do is put it down to 'one of those things'. I contacted someone recently and I'm absolutley sure that there is a connection between our trees. However, the person deleted themselves from my contact list without replying. In an affort to prompt some sort of response I sent an additional email, noting that I hadn't received a reply to my original message and apologising for making the initial contact and causing any offence, if that was what I had done. That second contact has been deleted from my list too. Not even a 'no you didn't cause offence, I just don't want any contact' reply. I too wonder why these people bother putting their trees on a public site. |
