Why do parents have to hide everything or say I have not got time or cant be bothered. Everytime I ask my mother anything its like talking to a brick wall. I hope in years time when my children want to know anything, both me and my wife would help them in every way we can. Sorry about the moan but, I am so mad.

How can a mother not have time to speak to her son. Don't give up and she'll cave in eventually.

hi nigel have a moan, i have today, it helps sometimes. As for parents i think they like to protect us so they don't tend to tell us things that worry them. I'm a mum myself and i must admit my kids don't know when things are troubling me, its a parent thing, though my kids come to me with their problems. I don't know what you are trying to find out from your mum, but i'm sure she thinks she's protecting you by not answering your questions. hope you feel a bit better after your moan sandra

Don,t be too hard on the parents, sometimes as suggested they are being protective ,other times ,as they get older ,they tend to forget things ,or become confused ,but never forget ,come the day ,they won,t be there any more ,and then you will really have something to complain about.Fred.

Hi Nigel My mum was the same she would'nt tell us anything about her real parents, just odd little snippets, mostly to my sister, now she is no longer with us i am trying to find her mother, we think she may have been born out of wedlock and ashamed to tell us, even my dad would'nt tell it's so frustrating. nigel take it one step at a time. my mum told me that she was adopted when i was about 14 but back then she couldn't look for her biological mother as the law prevented her from looking for her. my dad told me when i was 10 that i had 2 half-sisters and to look for them after i was 21 because he didn't want my mum to know that he had give me the information.they separated when i was 11,so i have started looking for them. have patience and you will get there in the end. sue
