If or when you are reunited with your ancestors what will you say to them? I think I will ask them why they moved around 200+ years ago and why did they start using their middle name as a first name. Pat |

I would ask great great grandma who fathered her 2nd eldest child - cos there's a great big hole in my tree where the name of great grandma's father should be!!!!!!!!! |

I'd like t o ask my 4xGt grandfather what made him and his youngest son consider themselves gents - especially as the other two boys were a publican and a road sweeper is it - as I suspect - that they had their 6 (grand)daughters running a brothel following the death of their mother as they all fall under the title of "dressmakers" and I'd ask my 3xGt grandfather was he really THAT desperate for a boy that he had two have his two wives have 17 children between them before they got a boy that lived past the age of 3 or was he just a randy ole b*gger |

Hi Zoe Thank you for that it really cheered me up, I needed a laugh real bad. Didn't you have interesting ancestors? Feel sorry for the wives though. Pat |

Pat Oh - so do I. The first died in childbirth having her third son - none of them lived longer than a few months. The second - god bless her - my 3x gt grandmother would have known what she was in for being the sister of the first wife's brother in law. But, all said and done, if they hadn't kept trying for young William Robert then I wouldn't be here today. It does go some way to explaining the fact that my father and his two siblings had 19 children between them |

Ann This is going to sound really mean but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one with brick walls. Sometimes when you feel like giving up the search you see that you are not the only one with problems and it does give you the incentive to carry on. Good hunting and lets hope good results. Pat |

i would ask mine the stories that were passed down, and what their dreams were, for the future. and how did they cope with the hardship and loss of so many children. sandra |

I would ask my grandad who his father was? Maybe (as I suspect) he didn't know. Then I would want to ask his mum! She gave her 2 first sons the same middle name, which is the only lead that I have. I would also ask my great x3 grandad which pub he used to run! Maggy |
