Bryan, I love fish but don't cook it often as my husband won't eat it- except fishfingers!!!! The other thing I really like but he won't touch is liver- in yummy onion gravy- that's making me really hungry just thinking about it!!!! |

Sounds dear to me , Bryan. I had half a dozen Sardines (floured and fried) and a chunk of fresh crisp baguette, total cost 40 centimes, about 26 pence, delicious and full, Derek in France |

Brian - next time you have any left over mash - make your own fish pie. You don't need a huge piece of fish and nothing fancy - coley will do - so it should work out to be quite economical. Cook fish either in a microwave - you may have an auto button for this- or poach in a little milk and water until just cooked. Flake fish and stir into either parsley or cheese sauce whichever you prefer (Bisto do instant ones that you can make up with boiling water and you only need make up how much you need), Layer the fish mixture with the mashed potato finishing with a layer of mash - sprinkle with cheese and pop in the oven about 200 deg. 400f until cheese is browned. Bet you won't be able to eat half and freeze half! Magsx |

ann, i have an affinity for liver...shortly after my eldest daughter was born...my wife had complications, which were so severe, that a week later,we called in the local priest..well,i haden't eaten for 8/9 days, turning down offers of a meal from everyone...then one night, coming back from the hospital,i called into the mother in laws to give her the latestnews...and she was cooking..liver..bacon..onions..mushrooms...i ended my famine that nite, and my wife got better shortly after. bryan. |

Derek, Who do you think you're kidding? How many years ago was that? Centimes went out years ago when the Euro came in. Did you mean Euro cents? |
