danial pointed out that the priest on the news last night was pointing out this hymn should be banned because of a line stating that we should put our country before god.and that why he wants it banned.at the end of the day this hymn has been sung for hundreds of years and to ban it would be unadvisable.every little thing in this country has to be politically correct and if it's not it is thrown out.to be a society together we have to be proud of our country and be patriotic.i think you need to love yourself and your fellow countrymen to create a better country and world.doesn't mean that god is not important in peoples life. |

"I vow to thee, my country". It was the view of only one clergyman. Joy PS Dan, you could never be "Public enemy". Paul - please go back to being Chunks. |

I think he is a silly old fool who has nothing better to do. A black guy on the news thought it was stoooopid. Why is everything deemed as racist all the time. If the priest wants to go further why not bann ALL religion, after all, Every religion will be bound to upset at least one person in this world who thinks it is the "wrong" religion. The worlds gone mad and if the priest doesnt like the peoples hymns that they have been singing for years, then he should quit & become a politicion ! Elaine x |

I love that hymn I vow to Thee my country, reminds me of school, Britain, family. Why cannot people accept that we are not all alike and don't all like the same things etc. We are, I hope, a democratic country and have a choice. Sylvia |
