I need to loose some weight for my holiday in 6 weeks tomorrow. I have been meaning to start a diet for ages but have not been very good. Now it is 6 weeks to my holiday and Im panicking. Really could do with losing a stone (for now0. Im going to join weight watchers tomorrow. Do you think its too late or can I do it. I dont eat a lot of chocolate, sweets, biscuits or cake. My downfall is picking 'cos Im bored or bread. UPDATE; joined weight watchers last Monday weighed 9lbs more than I thought. Have told me I need to loose 18lbs. Am doing really well up to now. Shall update on Monday when Ive had my weigh in. |

Gillian - good luck! A stone should be acheivable, that's just over 2lbs a week, if you aim for that then anything extra will be a bonus. My sister had success with Weightwatchers, her downfall is cheese! |

It's never too late ! 6 weeks - 2 pounds a week - sounds achievable to me. Or you could do Atkins if you want to guarantee it - most people lose half a stone in the first week alone - I certainly did. Rick. |

Gillian I think that you will notice the most difference if you step up the exercise as well - even if it is only walking. Chrissie |

Why do you need to loose weight for a holiday? Unless your going to prevent the plane taking off just go as you are. Holidays meant be a time to relax, not worrying what you look like. |

Dont deny yourself anything, the more you cant have it, the more you want it ! Fill yourself up by eating inbetween, free foods = any green salad vegetables sugar free jelly tomatos ____________________________________________________a portion of lean meat or fish boiled or a jacket potato without butter fill your plate up with veg or have a green side salad with your dinner, a low fat yogurt for afters |

Thanks Theresa. Am having a stir fry tonight with loads of veg and some quorn peices. Only 1 and 1/2 points and have saved some points for some wine. Bought 4 small bottles from the supermarket so shall have 2 of them and might add soda water. Cant wait. |

Hi Gillian - I've lost a stone and half since June, by keeping to 1000 calories a day - no fizzy drinks - no bread or potatoes - at least 2 litres of water a day - and keep sugary veggies to a minimum (peas; sweetcorn; carrots)............Good luck! |
