Thanks Lorr and Christine! Maggy I don't know where I'm going. It's allocation on arrival. We've done this with our last few holidays and have never been disappointed. They seem to take into account what sort of age groups your party consists of. I've heard Gran Canaria is rather hilly. Still I should be fit by the time I get back! lol Jeanette |

dont know what excuse my town have we sent ours off, mine only needed kids names removing and hubbys and 2 kids needed new ones, theirs all came back except mine, next day birth certificates came in seperate envelope, week later mine arrived with just a line through the kids names. i could have done that with a pen. that cost me over 100 pound. |

Cheers Maggy and Valley! If we miss out this time we might go for a week at half term. My sister is in Penzance, Cornwall at the moment. Apparently there were flash floods in Redruth today. Fortunately she is staying in a cottage this week but plans to spend next week camping. Good luck to her I say! Jeanette x |

Linda Thank goodness it turned up. I wouldn't like the job of disappointing a 10 year old. It's bad enough when you're...ahem...21! lol Chrissie My nearest passport office is Liverpool I think. So not very near at all. I thought I would chance the postal application as it was costing me £134 as it was. It would have cost twice as much to go to the passport office plus the price of the petrol. I am remaining optimistic - for now! lol |

Fingers crossed for you Jeanette. I could recommend a few good places for a holiday in this country, but due to the dodgy weather I don't think that I'll bother.... Maggy |

Jeanette Do you live very far from the passport office? I believe that if you are prepared to sit and wait (you could be there all day) they will do it while you wait. They do at Peterborough anyway. Cheers - Chrissie |

Kim I have absolutely no idea. One theory was that the alphabet is divided into 2 and therefore N is the first letter of the second half of the alphabet and comes before G! Confused? You will be! lol Jeanette |

Three weeks ago we decided that we would probably like to squeeze a last minute holiday in during the kids break from school. Our passports were due to run out so I sent them up for renewal. If we want to be back in time for the kids restarting school we would have to go this Sunday at the latest. So imagine my delight when I heard a loud thud on the doormat at 7.30 this morning. I ran to the door to find only 3 passports - one for my partner and one each for the kids - and not a sign of mine. I rang the passport office to see why mine hadn't been sent and guess what the reply was? Your surname begins with a G and the others begin with an N! Well 10 out of 10 for observation! lol. Apparently mine will arrive in the next 3 to 7 working days. Might just sqeeze a week in but please keep you fingers crossed for a fortnight. We didn't have a holiday last year and my other half could really do with a break. Jeanette x THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR KEEPING YOUR FINGERS CROSSED - MY PASSPORT CAME TODAY. I'M OFF TO GRAN CANARIA ON MONDAY. WOOHOO! |
