Hiya,Sorry Sylvia it wasn't us that had the sunshine,we do have some today but it is a bit watery, david has washed some jeans and hung them out to dry ,hope it stays dry as I am out myself soon to see my dad. The concert was really good,I suppose it was really a pop concert as t was a group called Westlife who we went to see. I really had a good night, they put such a lot of effort into the show and enjoy doing it ,you can tell. Have a few emails to reply to so had better go,take care ,Brenda.

Cooooooooooooeeeee, cooooooooooooooooooeee, it is Sunday and it's me reporting. Where the heck are you all again? Well I was up so late this morning that Johan had laid the table, boiled the eggs, set the coffee, and all I had to do was eat my breakfast. Which is what I have just done. Now, why do I bother getting up all week to get his breakfast I wonder? I am still not dressed, but then there is nobody else around. Thought I'd better rescue this thread. The weather looks a lot brighter than it did yesterday. Have a nice day everybody. Maybe I'll drop in later, just to see how far this thread has dropped back. Sylvia xxx

Hi all, Yes, it's me again. Nice to know who is who on your photos Fred. Hope you enjoyed your concert Brenda. Well own up, who had our sun today? Yesterday we had lovely sunshine but today nothing. Just when I have got all the summer clothes out and put the winter things away. Come on you lot own up who has got this sun? Johan took Linda's things which she had stored here to her new house. Whilst he was away I made a rhubarb tart, or is it pie?, and a few mince pies. I also prepared the dinner. This afternoon Annemie came down for a chat, so didn't get my card made which I have promised for a lady upstairs. I must do it this evening, if I can work up any ideas. Shouldn't be too difficult though as it is for a child of 10 years. Now until tomorrow. Sylvia xxx short and sweet tonight boys and girls

Spray your veggies with soapy water Mavis the butterflies dont like the taste or smell,or use derris dust which is harmless to humans or pets. Hi everyone, Just a short note tonight. Really tired. Went to see our friend Blair in hospital yesterday - slight improvement thank goodness. He is still halucinating - in his 'dreams' he has been to South Africa and Holland. Thought he was in prison at one stage. The Dr seems to think it is his medication. He is eating a little now and walking a few yards with a walking frame. Will see him again tomorrow. Spent a long time in the garden again today - the wretched weeds never stop growing!! Planted cabbage, cauliflower and Broccoli plants today. Still a lot of cabbage white butterflies about so no doubt they will have a field day on the plants! Must go now - my eyes are closing. Goodnight Mavis NZ

I would point out to Mavis and Sylvia ,that the TUBBY one isn't Fred ,sniff, but my son,the chef, can't you tell he loves what he cooks lol,Fred is the old git with the glasses and the big centre parting,[fred now stomps off in high dudgeon lol] Im glad you at least are having some sunshine Sylvia,it's gone all cold and murky over here in the north east ,and i'm really glad i hung back and didn't put the geranium cuttings out after all. I have most of the veggie seeds in now and the tomato seedlings are showing four leaves ,so ,another week and they can go into their pots.the cucumbers are through as well so Fred is well under way.and the veggie side of the garden is nearly dug over in readiness for its new residents. I only signed on for a fewe minutes and am away now ,i don't know whats wrong today ,i feel so tired but havn't done anything,i think an early night is called for ,so i will say goodnight to one and all. See you tomorrow.fred.

Cooooooooooooooooooooeeeee, coooooooooooooooooee, where the heck are you all??????????????? I suppose you think you can have a day off because the sun is shining. Forget it, don't forget there is always an evening? Today I went out for a short time, not because I wanted any shopping, but because it was nice weather. I first made a loaf of bread and ran a washing machine. I then instructed Johan to take the bread out of the tin if I was not back on time, but I was, so no trouble. I have a new task now, watering the newly planted plants on the balcony. At lunch time my hairdresser turned up to do my hair and almost the same time my ex son in law came for coffee. Never a dull moment here. I have now made two bread and run two washing machines. Several people who have seen my crotcheted clothes hangers think they are nice, so I'll carry on making them. I wonder whether it will be nice enough to sit out over the weekend. Linda is moving into her new house this weekend, but her girlfriend is waiting another week, so Linda may change her mind yet, we'll say. We have offered to help move her personal belongings. Now have a nice evening everyone. Sylvia xxx

Hi everybody, Well June, when everything is finished you could take a holiday you know! Brenda, how many more years do you have to work? I went to the shop and bought some plants today and my two long blue balcony boxes are filled with pink geraniums, lobelia and allysum (spelling?) and my two big blue pots have impatience, lobelia and allysum. I have also a hydrangea. They are all very small but soon grow. The hydrangea has been on the balcony all winter and has all new shoots on it. My parsley has also been on the balcony all winter and is shooting up fast. Our do it yourself shop sells plants very cheap at this time of year and began selling on Easter Monday. I thought I wouldn't get any, plants, but I don't like shopping on Sunday or holidays. I have a piece of translation to do for my granddaughter tonight. This is her last piece for school to get her diploma. It is all about scootmobiles. I had to laugh when I read it as it is a bit over me. Now have a nice evening everybody. Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, We have had another lovely day today, it was wet this morning but cleared before lunch. I couldn't resist moving some furniture around and I think I may have pulled a muscle again. So my daughter has put the tens machine on my back to see if that will help. Thank goodness the bathroom is now finished, I daren't ask which job we are starting on next. The central heating will be started in about 3 weeks, so we have to move some cupboards in the kitchen in readiness for that. We wont know what to do with ourselves when all the jobs are done, lol see you all tomorrow. June xx

Hi everybody, Yes, thanks too for the photos Fred. I wondered at first whether the tubby little fella was Fred himself, but I suppose the other 'old man' was Fred????????????? I had my help in today and it was lovely being able to tell her what to do. Change the beds, clean the windows in my hobby room. Oh the joyful luxury of it! When my help had finished I decided to go out with my scootmobile as the sun was shining. My help walked with me as far as her bus stop. We couldn't do any vacuum cleaning today as silly old me has thrown, by mistake, a piece of my vacuum cleaner in the dustbin when emptying it. I have ordered a new piece. It is a Dyson, so will be expensive. I have found a new hobby which I can do when watching television - which is not very often though - I am crotcheting covers for some old wooden clothes hangers. All odds and ends and they look quite attractive. Lucky you Mavis. I love eating fresh fruit. I bought quite a lot today. When we lived in Nigeria we could pick mangos from the trees, also bananas, grapefruit, oranges and lemons. Have a nice evening everybody. Sylvia xxx

Hi Everyone. Thanks for the photo's Fred. Love the little fella. (Not you Fred!!). We had rain all day on Tuesday but today has been very warm and sunny. The lawns needed the rain. Played Mahjong today - I won on our table - only 'pretend money' though. I won $17,000 - would be great if it were for real. Our friend Blair is improving very slowly - being transferred from Hamilton Hospital 3 hours away to our local hospital. He will be in the rehab. ward. Is very confused still. His wife will be pleased to be back amongst friends and neighbours I am sure. We will do some baking for her to keep her going for a while. Casseroles etc. Tomorrow is 'hair do' day for me. Long overdue for a cut. Might be housework day too! We have another holiday on Tuesday next - Anzac Day. Lots of parades etc. All the shops will be closed. I still have plants to put in - need to get some more potting mix. Up to Mitre 10 tomorrow to see what they have. Had more Fejoas given to me today so will make some more jam or jelly. Fresh Pineapple goes well with the Fejoas. Had a few guavas given me as well but we like to eat them fresh as they are. Kiwi fruit will soon be given away too. Te Puke, which is about 10 mins. from here is called Kiwi Fruit Country. Many, many orchards. You will find bins at the entrance to the orchards full of mis-shapen fruit which is free - just help yourself. Must go now - 10.58 p.m. Bed time again. Talk to you soon. Mavis NZ

Oooooops, i knew i shouldn't have put two whole days into the garden, hee hee, this thread was about to fall off the edge of the world. I'm doing pretty well out there though.half the big patch of the veggie garden is now turned and ready, and Liz has promised to start the broad and runner beans for me today,in the greenhouse. Going to try some corn this year too,i love it on the cob with a bit of butter for tea yummmmmie. I still hav'nt got those bulbs out ,everytime i go to put them in ,something else cathes my eye that wants done, and i get sidetracked ,again lol, maybe tomorrow if it aint raining? Hope you are getting used to your new gear Brenda,it took me a week to get used to my new keyboard ,therre were unly a coiuple of keys in a different place ,but the old fingers keep trying to go to the old place a few times hee hee. Hiya Mavis[waves] nice to see you again ,and Sylvia too [waves again],sounds as though you have both been busy. I had a pretty good easter ,busy as usual ,but i did get the Monday off when i went to the sons for dinner and tea, where there were so many goodies that i pigged out a little. I will have to watch myself or i will put the weight i lost over the winter back on again, and that won't do seeing as i can now get up the side of the greenhouse where i got stuck last year lol. I had two slices of the sons potato leek and cheese pie ,cor ,it was good, and he made my country stuffing to go with the turkey ,which must be a favourite because the kids demand that everytime we have poultry ,none of them will touch the shop bought stuff.,i think the hint of nutmeg may have something to do with that ,either that ,or my grandkids like home made . If it will stop raining for a couple of hours i will try to get down the quayside to get a couple of photos of the tall ship [The James Cook] which arrived yesterday, she is berthed on the upper reach of the queyside near the tyne bridge ,which i'm sure will attract some attention. Must be off now,i havn't even had my shave yet and i want to be away shortly, see you all later Fred.

Just a late nudge. Had a message from my granddaughter to say that they have had so much help in the house that it is almost finished. Her father and her mother's partner have been laying the laminate in all the rooms today, together with Linda's brother. Linda's brother (my grandson) is free tomorrow so is going to finish off the laminate in Linda's bedroom. My daughter had her first car accident today in her partner's new car. Car of a few weeks old! She backed out against another car. I told her this is a warning for her to take it easy. She has been coming backwards and forwards from Eindhoven since Friday. She said she will listen, but will she? Well it is now pouring with rain, but supposed to be fine again tomorrow. I've never had such a quiet Easter. Everybody busy. Anyway I don't mind, have been doing lots of other things. Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone. Another Easter almost over. Time seems to fly past as you get older. Had a good go in the garden today. The weeds seem to grow so fast. Planted some Cos lettuce plants also planted pansies in tubs - they will flower in Winter. Cheers the patio and front porch area up on the dull and dreary days. Have Polyanthus to plant around our mail box. Gold and red mixture. Made more Fejoa and ginger jelly today. Tasty. Our friend Blair is still very poorly - hope he picks up soon. All for now. Hi everyone, Its another lovely sunny day here, we have had lovely weather all over the Easter period. We have been out in the garden, most of the garden ornamenst tht we had brought with us are now out. Cant wait to get some bedding plants in but its a little bit early yet. Tortie (tortoise) is now out, she looks a bit stunned, she went to sleep in one garden and woke up in another much bigger one. She has soon settled though, she soon found her way over to the patio doors, so we have placed her little hut there. Of course Beckham is still rushing up and down the garden, playing with his squeaky ball. This afternoon, the family have gone out so I have a bit of peace and quiet, so now I am going to make a cup of coffee and have settle down, hopefullt for a snooze. See you soon, enjoy your Easter Sunday. June xx
