Morning all,up with the larks this morning after upsetting the missushee hee,the smoke alarm started cheeping at one this morning ,you know the sort of thing i reckon this cheep chep every thirty seconds to tell you that the battery is low. Weeeell ,i was warm toastie and comfie ,NO Way Was i moving out of my bed to pull a battery out at one in the morning ,so ,i did a man thing and pulled the duvet up over my shell like and went to sleeplol. Oh ,the looks this morning ,seems liz crawled out of bed at three after trying to get me to go to no avail Hee Hee ,i know i will suffer the rest of the day for it ,but a man has to have these small victories once in a while.. It didn't help when my son nearly choked me with a remark he made about Ann yesterday afternoon. There was ann, struggling with the new washing machine [these tyneside women are not very mechanically minded you know]lol. After a few minutes she exploded ,this b****y machine is useless.and i can't understand how to bring up the programmes, you will have to do it Stevie ,so our lad goes over to it,fiddles about for two minutes and off it goes,as the son turns to Ann and says ,huh, what's the problem, there is nowt wrong with the programmes ,i can get bbc 1 and two itv and discovery. Old Fred choked on his coffee sending it all down my jumper as i creased up ,what a brave lad ,a real chip off the old block, but not wise, as i think Ann and Liz train in the ring together. Frerd did the wise thing and took the only sensible female for a walk, cummon Mia ,lets go down the park for a bit of peace Hee hee. My lad is brave,Ann is no bigger than liz ,around five foot nothing ,but she is a typical tynesider better in the trenches in a battle than many of the males and even more volatile in temper than the son ,i would have liked to be a fly on the wall last night after we left.it would have been a hoot. Our Jude sounds to be enjoying her holiday ,i do hope she gets to see all the things she was looking forward to see .Off to get the radiator key now ,but will be back ,if i can get on here without havinhg to join a two mile queue Fred.. |

Hi all, Well another Spring-like day with more and more Spring flowers showing their heads through the open ground. Too many mole bumps too. It seems they have had multiple births during the winter judging by the numbers of bumps all over the grass, including the football field. I went out on my scootmobile and met my doctor doing her shopping too. When I came back my granddaughter was here with a gorgeous bunch of tulips for me. She is a real dear and phones me nearly every day. She is now off tomorrow to celebrate Carnaval. I hope she enjoys herself. She is going south with 5 girlfriends - all friends since school, all 24 years of age and all single, nice-looking girls! Have to be up early tomorrow for another x-ray of my stomach. Must not forget to go without breakfast! Nice to see Jude enjoying herself. I bet she misses Madoc though. See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Hiya all, cor, made it at last after trying to get on here for twenty minutes, methinks all this advertising genes on the tv as a free site is causing a lot of problems with freebe people swamping the site.Hey Sylvia ,i had the same happen with a tooth a few years ago ,the pain starting for the same reasons in the same way ,and it turned out to be a fracture betwen the tooth and the crown, and mine did indeed shear off at a later date. My missus got her flowers yesterday.AND i did her a special meal of ham slices ,turkey slices ,carrot batons ,mashed ,and boiled new potatoes ,cabbage, and calabrese .doused in a lovely beef gravy, the last ingedient being a very nice homemade stuffing, must admit ,it went down very well.I do agree with Pip in a wat though ,it is a racket now ,but i have always got the missus flowers ,but no card for the ssame reasons as Pips. It isn't too bad here this morning ,nice and mild ,but threatening rain very shortly. We won't be hearing direct from Jude for a while i see ,but the message on here this morning shows that she is enjoying herself out there and may get some snippets from time to time. I am offf now seeing as we are due to recieve visitors shortly, from the council no less who seem to be concerned about Liz,maybe they think i am ill treating her ,yeah ,right lol,it's more likely me that needs protection if they upset her,cor [shudders ] it don't bear thinking about Hee Hee.Fred. |

Has anybody else noticed it is Valentines Day? No romanticism here I am afraid. Johan calls it commercialism. Therefore no cards, no nothing, boo hoo. I went to the dentist today as I have had trouble with a tooth which gives me pain when I drink anything hot or cold. He took a photo but couldn't find anything wrong. I reminded him of a similar circumstance a few years back and when I got to Spain the tooth in question broke off. It was also a tooth with a gold crown on! The weather is enough to make one search for the sun, but I guess we'll have to sit this one out and wait until the hospital visit is over. Have a nice evening everyone. Sylvia xxx |

Hi all, After reading Fred's news, mine seems so uninteresting. I've been looking at the calender for next two weeks and it's all hospital or surgery appointments for one thing or the other. Now to crown it all I have developed toothache, so will have to get that sorted out before I go into hospital. Never a dull moment here. This morning it was drizzling, but later the weather became drier. See you all tomorrow. I wonder how Jude is getting along? Sylvia xxx |

goodmorning fred as usual your menu sounds wonderful and the update on the birds very interesting, the last few days I have had one lonely pigeon visiting on the balcony (11 floors up). and he?she and the cats have long staring matches through the window. the snow blowing around does not seem to bother the bird. it is early sunday morning over here and at the moment the snow has stopped and the visability is great I can see all the hill in the distance. lots of traffice going up there to the ske resorts who are all back in business again.no special plans to-day but it is early yet, my baby sister turned 60 yesterday and is not happy about it, I remember her coming home from the hospital in 1947 she was in for a long time as she only weighed a pound and a half, and she is still slim. I told her age is only a number and each day is a gift and exciting I don't think she believed me ah well, well the cats want breakfast so bye for now dorothy |

Morning everyone ,from a mild and wet north east. Never you mind Sylvia ,you bothered to come on and add a few words ,and it's nice to see you anytime. Morning to Brenda too,and anyone else looking in.I have the day off today, refusing to do any housework on a Sunday other than the cooking. Our Liz forgot to leave the belly pork out last night grrrrrr ,so the dinner i had envisaged is no more ,and i was so looking forward to it. Never mind ,we picked up four beef en crouates from Farm Foods yesterday, four for a quid ,so we are now having Duchess potatos with a little oil drizzled on top and a dusting of fresh chive flakes, with the two beef whatsit's [lol] fresh green beans [french] and brocolli with a nice gravy. I may even do a small stir fry for tea,or a soup out of the freezer. This cold weather has seen a load of my birds come back, and it makes my morning to see them ,but still no sign of my robin ,or wren yet ,and i am a little concerned in case the sparrow hawk has got them, grrrrrr,if need be ,and this hawk keeps coming back into the garden i think i will get the son down with a shotgun to scare it off,a couple of shots close by will send it on it's way for good . We have the same blackbird here again, too big for a sparrow hawk tp bother ,and he still remembers how to hover at the fat balls and get big chunks off to scran on the patio,i really must try to get a new photo of him doing this as i lost the last one when teh puter crashed[that taught me to dump all the new ones on disc though ,just in case[ he also remembers to tap on the patio doors with his beak to let us know when there is no bread out ,and won't fly off until we get too close when we go out with it ,around four feet. You around Jenny,we wen't to the sons via the coast yesterday,on the metro, and boy ,your exercise beach looked rough lol,and the sea, reeeeeelly rough ,no way would i go to the cafe on the links for coffee in that ,besides ,it looked to be closed, but i hope we can get down for a coffee and bun when the weather clears ,and hope to meet Mau, and Ann and Jim again too. Have to go and start the dinner now ,and continue downloading this film for liz,so will be around most of the day. Take care all ,and be good.Fred. |

A grey, but dry day here. I haven't been doing very much, a little ironing, washing, cooking and card making. Now tonight will watch some television as it is our Lottery evening. Who knows may be a millionaire tomorrow! Not much news, but at least this is better than a nudge I suppose. Sylvia xxx |
