Hi everyone Its been a lovely sunny day but very windy, the clothes wre dried nicely. Sylvia, I'm glad you've got the date of delivery for your new computer, I hope the shop stuck to the original agreement. Di, At last you have got rid of Mr Ratty, you must be very relieved. I wouldn't be happy about the racoons either, I like animals etc to stay in their place and not invade mine. I have had a very lazy day today, I had intended to start to take some of the decorations down but I fell asleep this afternoon for a couple of hours. I must be catching up on all the sleep I have lost over the holidays. I had better sign off now because I have to be up to take Sam to work for 9 in the morning. so might everyone Love June xx

Hi all, Let's begin by the traditional Happy New Year. It's difficult to think of happiness when there is so much misery around with the Asian disaster. This provoked me to put a new thread on the Board, but I expect it will soon disappear. Glad to see everybody has been having a good time. Johan and I spent a quiet New Year's Eve. We had expected the children today, but there'll probably turn up tomorrow. I felt utterly disgusted with the people near me letting off so many fireworks. That money could have been spent on other things, for instance help for the disaster people. My computer keeps switching me off, so will be glad when I get the new one. We've now a date - 10th January. Will close now before it shuts me off. Love, Sylvia xxx

Hi Just done a Tescos run with daughter to top up the food cupboard, as we were on our own we managed to get in a visit to Hobbycraft where I spent a fair bit of money replenishing the stock I used for Christmas cards. We are having a family dinner tonight, onion bhajis etc to start then two different curries, one prawn, one veg plus all the accompaniments. Followed by pavlova and cream. We will then have a putting competition which will as usual cause much hilarity among the 7 of us. Sorry you were poorly over Christmas Kathleen, always a shame after looking forward to the festivities. I will be watching for news of Susie when you know more. Jude, not hung over just fuzzy - yeh, know the feeling. My daughter is, at this moment downloading pictures of red indians off the internet to use on a 60th birthday card for her friend. June, I have promised myself a big tidy up when the tribe go home. Watch this space. Fred, hope the NY dinner went well. Sylvia That 'cake' sounds lovely, very sweet though I suspect? Brenda looks like most of us are around at some time over the holidays doesn't it, nice to keep the thread going. Anyway, a very Happy New Year to everyone, hope 2005 brings you all, all you wish for yourselves and families. Best wishes Ann Glos

Hello everyone - how you all doin???? l woke with abit of a fuzzy head this morning - had 3 large glasses of Bailey's and ice- oh my its just like drinking choc cream - l was'nt hung over just fuzzy!!!! lol The weather is again quite bright, it keeps changing from cloudy to sunny, atleast its not raining. We're off for the night to my nephews, plus his mum and step dad and of course Mad dog Madoc!! oh eck l do hope he behaves himself - they have a pond and he loves water!!!! It was my birthday the other day and l had a gorgeous necklace from my sister - its a silver feather on silver chain. Back in Aug l saw it at the Monmouth Annual Craft Show, l kept going back to it but could'nt afford it - my sister got waylayed and said she was lost, but had actually gone back to the stall and bought it - wow, l have been so lucky again this year. The stall had all sorts of feathery Indian things, l love American Indian's and their clothing etc - from America just before christmas l received 4 more tiles made by the Indians, they are gorgeous, l will try and photograph them and put on GC photo site - oh yeh and my art box! (which is now full and l can't lift it!!!!) Nice to see you Fred, hope your wife is ok now, take care both of you:o) Kathleen - should think you were absolutely exhausted by the time you sat down at christmas and everything just caught up with you - you must take care now. Thinking of you and especially Susan - l will keep looking on here for news. Just popping in to say Happy New Year to everyone. Have not been too well, had a cough/cold/sore throat and then topped it all off with a tummy bug for a couple of days. I was fine until Christmas Day, sat down to our dinner and it hit me. Just couldn't cope with any more I felt so tired all of a sudden. Then two days later the tummy bug laid me low for 48 hours. Feeling better now except waiting for news from Susan's hospital visit. It is now nearly 3 hours since her appointment (she asked my d-i-l to go with her instead of me). I'm getting very anxious now but hope to hear something soon. We are going to my younger daughter in Solihull later today for the New Year - just overnight. Looking forward to that. I will try to get back and let you all know Susie's results. Wishing you all a Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. God bless Love Kathleen

Hi everyone, I've been into town today shopping, it was busy with people looking for bargains, I just bought what I had gone in for, though we did have a spot of lunch while we were there. I also bumped into my nextdoor meighbour, the ones who have the 2 Golden retrievers, Ben the one that had to have an operation on his leg Has had to have it done again, the screws came out of the metal plates, so this time he will have the plaster on for a month. Brenda, cavity wall insulation is a good buy too, it makes a big difference. Sylvia, I too should start tidying the drawers, I wanted some papers today and noticed that there was a lot that should be thrown away. You are right to stick to the original agreement with the computer, I think shops are doing this too often these days. Go into the shop at a busy time and raise your voice so that everyone can hear, the manager will soon stick to the original bargain. Fred, Sorry to hear Liz was on the wrong antibiotics, you are second person on Genes that I have heard of in the last couple of days. Any way I hope she is soon better. I have to leave now, dinner is ready. Happy New Year everyone Love June xx

Go get em Sylvia ,it's so nice to hear of someone turning the screw on a shop for a change ,the only way they can do anything now is as you say giving it at the listed price. If they say they are out of stock ,then they will have to give you a comparable model ,so you can't loose. Iv'e had liz back to the doc's this afternoon ,and it would seem that the original antibiotics were not suited to this condition ,no harm done as the ones supplied have started to clear up the problem ,and he says the new ones should work wellHope you lot are getting geared up for the weekend.have a great time all.Fred.ptfg.

Well the weather was nice and sunny today, no rain or snow, so I ventured to the shops. I also bought from a stall "oliebollen", that is a sort of doughnut filled with apple and raisin, or raisins alone, also banana sometimes. I don't like making these myself, as I don't need many. I used to make them in the garage when the children were still at home, so as to keep the smell away from indoors. I will just warm them up on New Year's Eve. The shops were very quiet today. I'll not be going out again to the shops until next week. I started clearing things out today and started on one of the drawers in my hobby room. I soon got fed up with this and started making some cards again. Nice to see you back again Fred, and sorry to hear that your wife has been poorly. I send her my best wishes. We still haven't received our new computer and my husband has been phoning them every day. Somebody has dropped a clanger about the price. But they cannot get out of it they must sell us this computer now for the price it is advertised. We are holding on to the newspaper with the advertisement in it. Not much news for now, love, Sylvia xxx
