Hallalujah....it is raining at last today on the east Coast of Australia! Regards to all. Fred Mr D does not like rain, he is sitting on the back of my chair as I type, or as you would say, I am sitting on the front of his chair! He lost yet another collar the other day, and is now sporting a bright blue one with whire paws, with new engraved tag. I will try to upload a picture on the photo page. Sylvia I hope you and Norman are keeping well. June how is the house hunting going. Brenda did you get any gardening done Take care all JA

Hi everybody, Just a few quick lines. Have been busy in the kitchen with Linda, showing her what I want cleaned. The kitchen is now almost finished and looking a lot cleaner. Just need to buy a few odds and ends - but then that is the nice part of things, isn't it? I phoned my daughter this morning to wish her a happy birthday, and thought maybe she'd just got up, but no she'd already baked two apple tarts! Chip of the old block, so they say! I went out to the market on my own when Linda had gone and was almost too late as they were packing up. I didn't need too much, so was lucky. See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, sorry to be so late, but my son was on here most of the evening and i have to confess i fell asleep about 10pm and woke up just before 11pm.Had a few jobs to do before getting on here so will have to be very quick with my message ,as I need to get to bed and sleep properly as I am at work at nine tomorrow. It is my first saturday off for a month ,so I am hoping to go shopping for a few plants for the tubs in the garden,I want some dahlias or geraniums. I also want to look for a new standard floor lamp for the living room,we are still looking for a new gas fire.. My friends go on holiday in the morning and we are usually going with them,so I feel abit like Cinderella not going to the ball, still we are going away later in September,so I should not complain. It has been glorious again today, all the fans were on and doors wide open at the library to try and keep it cool. Hope it stays good for Saturday.!! Some old neighbours of ours had GP and did they have babies!!!They started by minding the school GP and got a couple themselves, before they knew it they had dozens. They built a little 'run' and a big hutch in the garden. But as the kids got older and lost interest they had to donate them to the school. See you all tomorrow.take care,Brenda

Hi all, Well we've been helping the economy today. Yes, we've been giving money out! We bought ourselves a lovely new telephone network - 3 handsets in a dark-blue colour. Very up to date. Also bought myself a new breadmaking machine. Was a special offer, so have money over - wow! what shall I buy next? I have thrown away my spice rack. It was so ancient, originally in red when my kitchen was that colour, but then I painted them blue. I also want a new holder for rolls of foil, etc. here again my old one was so old. This is what happens when you have your kitchen whitewashed! We had a glorious sunny day, apart from the wind. Turned much colder again tonight though. My granddaughter will come tomorrow morning and clean my kitchen cupboards, so that will be the kitchen nearly finished, apart from some changes Johan is going to carry out. Linda will be coming early as her mother, my daughter, has a birthday. Janet will be 47! This is where we mothers feel old, when our children approach that 50 mark. My son is 49. Ah well, will close for now, before I fill the whole page. Till tomorrow Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, Its been another sunny day here but just as I had decided to go and sit in it, it became overcast but still warm. I cut the hedge at the front of the house this morning and started sneezing again just as I had got my hayfever under control. What am I like, lol. Sylvia v O, Its hard to believe. that our countries are so near and yet you are having frost while we are having to have windows open to keep cool. Its a pity I cant bottle some for you, lol. I would know where to send the bottled warm air because we would be able to smell the bread baking! Brenda, I hope that when you don your shorts and Tshirt the sun stays out for you, when I put my sleeveless Tshirt and crop pamts today, the sun found some cloud to hide behind. Marly, these pets are fine until its comes to cleaning and then everyone disappears, it just ends up being another of 'mum's' jobs. John, sorry to hear about your wife's brother, he was young to die. Judy, I hope you have sorted out messenger, it's great to be able to chat to people. The BBQ is now ready so will speak tomorrow. June xx

Fred,I am in the process of trying to get the hang of messenger but if I get a break through will pass on your message. As for trolls, don't think I,ve seen any although there was a suspect a couple of days ago hopefully they have gone where all nasty smells go !! Sylvia in OZ,lovely to hear from you and hope your day off is going well. June,I know the frustration our rellies give sometimes but your g.father sounds intriguing and well worth pursuing so happy hunting. Sylvia v O,know what you mean about phones and the loo, also bath and at the other end of the garden !! Marley, sorry to hear no GPlets yet,are you sure you have a 'mummy & a daddy',don't know much about GPs as you can tell. My grandson has some and really loves them. Hello and good afternoon everyone Winter is here, its cold and it has been raining. Heaters are on. Judy - Have watched Shortland Street from the beginning, my Mum never use to watch saying it was terrible and only started watching when she was stayed with us for a week now she can't miss an episode. Off the Rails is really good, I'm waiting to see the series mentions the 1923 Ongarue rail smash in which my great-grandfather died. My wife's family tree has recorded another death - her brother died suddenly on 8 June he was 62. John

Good evening everyone, what a lovely day we have had today, even got into shorts and a tshirt near tea time,(when I don't have to go out again). Had to wait un this after noon for the gas man to service the boiler. Was going to do some ironing but it was too warm so sorted out some papers instead, intending to get rid of some, but just seemed to read them all again and couldn't decide if they could go or not.!! Judy i know what you mean about the vast distances to travel,in Oz and we think a couple of hours is long enougth. I bet we all wish we had started our trees earlier,or had asked people more questions. I haven't any name changes June, but I am pretty sure at least two of my rellies have a good imagination when it comes to where born on the census. Jaq hope you have a good visit with your nephew and his friends. How long does it take to get to you from UK.? Nice to see you Fred ,you keep that puter ticking over . Going for a cuppa now and to do some of that ironing I did not do earlier. take care Brenda

Hi all, Well the weather is a bit brighter today, more sun, but we still have that bitterly cold wind. Yesterday evening we had the central heating on again as it was so cold, some parts temperatures down to 2 degrees, and even talk of frost - and that in June! Yesterday Annemie's husband whitewashed my kitchen and afterwards it was my task of clearing up all the little white splash marks - oh, thank God this isn't every year! Anyway I was looking around the kitchen and I've found bits that need touching up, so he is coming again tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow we are going to spend some money on a new telephone system, one with several handsets - telephones in every room - even the loo! People always phone me when I've just gone to the loo! We are also going to buy a new breadmaking machine as mine has given up the ghost, so to speak. Anyway, it's nice spending money! Have been making some more cards for birthdays coming up. I must resume looking for my ancestors, but when I cannot get any further, I almost give up. Have a nice evening everybody. Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, Its another warm sunny day here, its nice to see everyone walking around with brief tops and a suntan. Earlier I gave the flowers a good watering and put some washing out and now after this message I am going to sit out and relax, it might rain tomorrow, lol. Judy, yes I too wish I had started my Family Tree years ago. I am pretty sure my grandfather changed his name and I am 99% sure his name was when he was born, but I dont know why he did this. My father, who was executor of his will, discovered something about my grandfather but would never disclose what, maybe if I had started my Tree earlier, I may have been able to persuade him to disclose 'The secret' . Your Quote is very apt. Jacqie, It sounds as though you are in for a good time with 3 young men, I dont think the wet weather will bother them too, we take it for granted here. Good luck with the Welsh language. Hi again Fred, my possible distant rellie. Joy it's really gorgeous weather, we should be outside in it before its start to rain again. I think everyone else is makig the most of the weather. Yesterday my daughter and son in law (they are both into Family History) went round a graveyard finding lots of rellies, not realising how burnt they were getting, they couldn't believe the marks of their Tshirts, they had. I hope you can understand that, I think I will go before I type more rubbish. June xx PS. Sylvia just noticed you popped on while I was typing my message, I'm glad you and Norm are OK. Enjoy your day off, whatever you do. (I have some cupboards that need turning out too, if you have time, lol.) June xx

Hello Everyone, including all my fellow orphans. I thought I'd better pop on for a minute just to let you know that Norman and I are OK. Tomorrow is my day off, as some of you know, so I am looking forward to it as usual. The weather bureau has issued a severe weather warning for tomorrow though, so I probably won't be going far. I think it might be a good day for turning out cupboards etc. which I love doing. Take care everyone and I'll speak to you all again soon. Love from Sylvia in Perth Western Australia X

Morning all ,i am back on line after my computer threw a wobbler and went on strike.I am quite proud of myself cause i repaired it all by my little self, although it took me two days instead of a few hours, lol.I have lost a few of my messenger contacts though, peeps ,so please if any of you out there ,don't hear from me on messenger ,i'm not ignoring you ,i need you to send me an invite again ,nudge, nudge wink ,wink ,you know what i mean [breaks into song and falls off the puter chair]. I missed everyone on here ,the first night was terrible ,i could'nt sleep ,and knew it was a waste of time getting out of bed becuse me puter was bust ,it was awful ,i don't know how many puters ,covered in bandages i counted but i was feeling a bit keyed up by morning he he. I see we had a visit while i was away by an aussie troll, ignore him everyone and he may slide back into the woodwork. I'm off for a wander round the boards ,but i should be back later, have a good day everyone.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S.

Hello Everyone Sorry not been for a couple of days...not much happening at the moment. The weather has not been good, into the wet season now and Hurricane season started on June 1st.....so far so good!!! Today started off wet but brightened up, didn't manage to get in the garden though too muddy!!!! I have to start getting ready for visitors at the end of June. My cousin from Wales is sending his son with 2 friends to us for 3 weeks....a sort of end of exams holiday... the friends have never been abroad so they are very excited. Nathaniel my cousins son has been here before so he knows the ropes. All three of them speak Welsh as well as English and fully intend to teach me some Welsh so hopefully I will be able to say goodmorning in Welsh by the time they leave!!!!! It's 10.19pm here at the moment, my husband is tucked up in bed with a cold!!! Hope I don't catch it. Well folks that's it from a not quite so sunny Grenada but still very Hot!!!! Jacquie xxxx

Hi Brenda & FNW Thought I'd lost you all.page 7 !!! Don't know where all the 'orphans' are but this little 'orphan' has had a few busy days working on her tree. Some of my lot are being very evasive, still with the weather being so cold and miserable, what better way to spend the time. Susan,it isn't until you mention travelling times that one realises how vast a country OZ is. How lovely to have 4 generations together at one time,it happened for me once (would have been 5 but my gt.g.Grandmother was still in the UK)Unfortunately I had never given genealogy much thought at the time so missed a golden opportunity for learning more. Now I realise the importance of handing down something for the family and who knows many many years from now I'll be at the top of someone's tree !! Quote:'You get too soon old and too late smart'. Hi everyone, Its a lovely sunny day here again, as I usually say 'A lovely day for going to the Lake District' I have nothing exciting to report, just been doing the usual shopping, housework etc. Elisabeth, Its lovely to hear from you again. Its too nice outside at the moment to be inside on the computer. Then with the wedding coming up, you have plenty to do., as well as looking after your elder ladies. Sylvia v O, what a lovely grandson you have. It would have reduced me to tears too. It sounds as though he has a bright future ahead of him. Susan, Of course you Aussie lot haven't put anyone off, we are happy to have you. This thread often slips down a bit, I just put Friends and Neighbours in the search and it pops up soon enough. I too dont bother going far at weekend, I prefer going in the week when it is quieter. Enjoy your visitors. Marly, Lovely to hear from you again, I dont know how you people with work and a family, find time to come on here, it must be hectic for you. How are the GPs? Any signs of babies? Fred still hasn't been on, I hope he and Liz are alright. I can now hear movement, so I had better leave now. Take care everyone. June xx
