Hi all, My son in law's new wife has now refused to do my grandson's washing, so guess who is doing it now, no not him, yes it's me. I know at 19 boys can be difficult, but I think this could have been approached in another way, but then again I'm only an aged old grandma! My grandson has now written himself in for a house. I said to him you cannot manage with your money now what do you think you're going to do with everything to have to pay for. Well he should finish school this year and if he works hard he can work next year and get paid. He works in a very distinguished restaurant. He came round this evening with all his work clothes, and food stains on white jackets. I didn't know where to begin. So I've treated the stains and will wash them tomorrow and I've now got the washing machine on at a 40 degrees wash. I think a little pep talk from me and a little cuddle is what he needs. He hasn't really got over the divorce. I've told my daughter that when I'm on holiday she can come here and use my washing machine and dryer. She can come up one evening each week. I intend to enjoy my holiday. Still haven't got the Spanish books out. Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, Its lovely and sunny here again today. That washing that I put in the machine, to hang out after my visitors had left, got completely forgotten, so I have to hang it out in in minute. I haven't any definite plans for today, this evening my friend will be round, but I'm sure I will be doing something, lol Yesterday I had a very fruitless afternoon searching for rellies but they didn't want to show themselves. Sylvia, It's a good idea your daughter going to use the washing machine, she can keep an eye on the place while you are away. It is difficult enough with teenagers, they are neither children nor grownups, without the complications of divorce. There have been problems (not serious ones, thank goodness) with our two and thankfully it seems to have resolved itself now. You just be the rock that they can cling too, I'm sure everything will turn out alright. Brenda, I hope your email arrived and that you are not still sat there. Your VE celebrations seem to have been successful, I didn't see anything going on around here. I hope everyone else is alright, we seem to have lost a few on the way. I must go and get this washing out now before it gets forgotten again. Take care. Love June xx |

Hi all, I finished all my grandsons washing and managed to get his cook's clothes all white and sparkling again. I left them soaking all night. I telephoned him to pick them up and just happened to mention that I hadn't seen any T-shirts or shirts of his. I said where are they, search your room, under the bed everywhere.(I 'd heard from his father that his room is in a mess). He said he'd pick up his clean washing on the way home from school, whereupon I said 'no, go home first and find any more dirty washing'. Lo and behold, he returned with two bags of washing. I'm keeping my daughter informed of what is happening as she will be doing his washing next week. He is such a lovable child (18) that it is difficult to be cross with him. He has a lot of washing as he has his cook's clothing from the restaurant where he is doing his apprenticeship, then Center Parcs where he works in his spare time and football clothes. The weather today is about the same as it has been the last couple of weeks, cold, very windy, and little sun. Well only a few more days then I'll see the sun. Bye for now. Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone l should be doing the ironing, but wanted to check on Bendy Wendy so popped back up her - hopefully she is ok now:o) Well we are off tomorrow for the weekend in London with daughter and partner - yesssssssssss. BBQ in the evening and to the city Saturday - we have 2 weddings in July and daughter is going to help find an outfit!!! My nephews wedding is going to be posh - black bow tie with dinner jacket & cocktail type outfit for the women- well l've never worn a cocktail outfit before, oh, yes l did, no l did'nt it was a ball gown !! My neighbour is having the dog and popping in to see to Fat Cat. Madoc is going to be spoilt rotten - we have given her all sorts of instructions, anyone would think they were young babies to be cared for, wellllll !!!!!!!!! neighbour keeps laughing at us:o( Whilst we are away we were hoping to visit the Imperial War Museum to see the sketches by my Uncle and Grandfather, but the staff in that department don't work weekends. There will be an exhibition in July which will include sketches from my Uncle Phillip Meninsky - they are all in connection with Far East POW camps. He drew vital information on the injuries and lack of medication etc hid them until after the war when someone collected them!!!!!!!! Anyway we can go any time of the year and see all the sketches by both men on Tues,Wed or Thurs. So we hope to arange something during the next month - how exciting:o)) Madoc still runs rings around me when we play rugby or footie. He came home with a new tennis ball yesterday, thats 3 he has now and one belonged to a dog over the road!!!! Still loves his hide and seek games and still eats nasties:o(( Hope everyone is well and those who have been poorly please get well soon.Take care:o) jude sarf wales xx |

Exiting times Jude, i hope all goes well at the weddings ,and on your visit to Londons war museum ,my father in law and stepdad were both in Burma on the infamous railway ,and my father in law was in The docks unloading ships when the bomb was dropped. He was taken from japan to canada on the impaccable aircraft carrier ,and i am now a proud owner of a pennent ,and blue duster from that vessel, and still have his tin cup ,given to him by the red cross on his arrival stateside.I am glad now that i obtained a photo of the vessel now because she was broken up in `1953. I take it you are not taking Madoc with you because london is not ready for another blitz, lol, never mind ,it looks as though he will be well cared for,him and fatcat both. I am going for a sit in the garden now before going to the hospital again ,so i wll see you all later.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S. |

Hi all, Nice to see you on the board again Fred, also Jude. Have a nice time in London Jude, and don't worry about Madoc, I'm sure he'll be spoilt rotten. Fat Cat will have some peace without Madoc for a few days. Tell us the colour of your new outfit Jude. The weather here is still cold and it is now dry. Keep this short today. Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, Its a lovely day again in the NorthWest. You all seem to have something exciting to do, my life seems pretty boring compared with yours. The highlight of my day has been a trip tp Asda, dropping Nick off at the hairdressers and Gaynor at the sun beds, lol I haven't been able to get on line this morning and when I phoned for my prescription they apologised for their computer being so slow. Have to go and pick Nick up now, take care. June xx |

Hi everyone, Its lovely and sunny again. the only downside is the pollen. The rape seed is the culprit at the moment, I have itchy eyes, a sore throat and I ache. I haven't got my usual energy, so yesterday I just gave in to it, lay down and slept. I like to get up early in the morning before the pollen gets to me. Brenda, I suppose with living over on the coast for so many years, it doesn't affect me that way, I could just do with a walk on the prom to blow this hayfever away. Dont forget to wave to me as you pass junction 29, I am only a mile and a half from there. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Take care June xx |

Hi all, Had rather a topsy turvy day. It all began with Johan saying he'd come to the market with Annemie and myself. Oh, my goodness I thought, now he'll discover we are doing the lotto. However, managed to talk to Annemie and she went and bought new tickets for herself and me - saved by the bell again. We do like to have our little secrets! Then my hairdresser phoned could she come this afternoon instead of the arranged time tomorrow. Ok, I said. Linda was just cleaning the bathroom when hairdresser turned up to wash my hair. Then my grandson came to pick up his freshly washed and ironed washing. His face beaming all over. I've been talking to Linda about her brother and wanted to know if the things I'd been hearing about him were true. And she confirmed they were. He has been playing truant from school, turning up late for school, taking drugs. The head of the school threatened to turn him out if he didn't stop. It is supposed to be all over now. He obviously misses his mother and needs a hug and cuddle still at 18. Can only do my best. I've never wanted to make comments or interfere before, but I think it's time I did so now. Have told my daughter to come here when I am away and invite grandson over and do his washing and cook a meal for him. Also not to forget his sister Linda. Never thought I'd be organising children again. Thought all that was over. Must close for now and get a short nap because I was up at 5.00 am. See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, Its lovely and sunny again, I have been awake since 4.45, the alarm went off (I think it was probably Bonnie, Gaynor's Yorkie that set it off) and I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards. The doves were cooing and the young neighbour who lives at the back of me (he's a workaholic) was up doing things. No wonder Bonnie was trying to get out. We have only got today to spend with my grandson, he doesn't go back to Denmark until Monday but he is spending tomorrow with his father. It looks like being a good weekend, weatherwise, so I hope all of you that are getting out and about, have a good time. Love June xx |

Hi all, Did some packing today and was feeling quite chuffed with myself, throwing out all unnecessary heavy things and thinking 'I'll make do without' when at the end of the day Johan comes along with 3 thick heavy books to take with us. I said 'COULDN'T YOU HAVE FOUND SOME HEAVIER ONES?' - UGH MEN! This morning I just couldn't get going. I made breakfast in my nightie and was sitting doing the usual Saturday crossword puzzle when my neighbour from the 3rd floor came down. I don't mind her seeing me in my nightie as she is often like that - even goes down to fetch the post in her nightie! We still have that cold biting wind although the sun is out and it is dry. Ah, I'll soon have the sun See you tomorrow, Sylvia xxx |
