Good moring everyone,I was busy yesterday morning before going to work at 12.30 -8pm ,so did not have time to get on here, when I got home I was tired and had three phone calls from friends one after the other. So have come on before even having a cuppa this morning, you all sound so busy with all your activities . Have what we call split shift today ,morning at one library ,then the afternoon at another, you get a half hour travel time and then your lunch hour ,so it is not bad and what also is known as "bus money"to cover the busfare/petrol. I am not inwork tomorrow and was looking forward to a lie-in ,but reading how you have all been getting up early and got more done I think I will do that myself. Sorry I have not mentioned any names ,but will when i have more time, take care .Brenda |

Hi Everyone, Its looks dull outside but dry. Yesterday I did manage to hang my washing out for a while. I also finished one of the Christmas ceramic lights I have painted, all it needs now is wiring up, I used to do my own but yesterday my hands wouldn't work properly, so I will have to ask for help. I still have to finish another one, so I had better get on with it or Christmas will be over and done with. Jude, Obviously you have been saying that you either like or needed something, you will have to cast you mind back over the last few weeks to remember what you have said on the other hand it will be nice to get a surprise. I bet Auntie had quite a shock, I just hope the policemen were good looking! lol George, Sorry you didn't get the job, but as I keep saying to my 20 year old grandson, there must be something better around the corner. Kath, When you next speak to Terri, please give her my love. I'm sorry she isn't happy in her new house, maybe she will feel better in a week or two. Maybe with upset with Ray not being well, she isn't settling yet. Ann Glos. I lay in bed last night, couldn't sleep, Ithought about my Christmas cards and I think I know where I went wrong, so I will have another try today. Sylvia, Pleased you are back on line. You had a reunion too, so did I after 28 years, it's good to be back in touch, loads to talk about. Its now nearly time to take Samantha to work, so I will see you all tomorrow. Love June xx |

Hello everyone, Sorry this will be brief. My daughter saw the Oncologist yesterday and the news is not good. Seems that she has had this for 3 years or so, it is a Grade 2 on the scale of 1-3 but is very invasive. She will have more tests and go into hospital on 14th December when they will do - I can't remember what this is called - a sort of investigative op, removing a few lymph glands and part of the breast tissue. Should know the results within 10 days, taking us to Christmas. Then they will have an idea of what has to be done and how far it has spread etc. So sorry about not being more positive. Hope you all have a good day. God bless Love Kathleen |

Hi all, Oh what a cold, miserable day, well it is dry, and the sun did show its smile, but how I hate the cold! Went out to town today with Johan to visit our new Aldi shop. It was busy as Wednesday is market day in town. Anyway, managed to stock up with some things for the freezer, because if it snows or gets slippery I will definitely not be going out. Have enough problems now, and don't want any more. Kathleen, so sorry to hear about your daughter. I do hope Santa can give you more positive news at Xmas. We will all be thinking of you. Linda, my granddaughter came today and has had a lovely time in Barcelona. She seems to do well with her money as she is going out to eat with a girlfriend tonight. At least she doesn't smoke! Where's Di today I wonder. Maybe she's getting on with her sewing. I wonder if Mr Rat is still keeping her company! Must get some dinner nowl Have a nice evening. Love, Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, Back again. on this wet miserable morning. Jude as I said before, you are very talented to be able to draw like that. Brenda, I hope the Lemsip works, sounds as though you may have one of these bugs that are constantly making the rounds. Sylvia, You are very wise to stock the freezer up, I keep expecting to wake up to frost one morning and then I dont like venturing out until the streets are "aired" Linda sounds a very sensible girl, I'm glad she enjoyed Barcelona. Everyone must be busy doing their Christmas shopping, I will pop back later to see if anyone has left another message. Love June xx |

Hi again, I have just glanced back through the messages and realised I didn't tell you what happened when I visited the bank on Monday morning. There were a couple people in front of me at the "hole in the wall" when it was my turn I couldn't get my card to work, after a couple of tries, I realised there was a wad of money sticking out, there was no one around but I realised the lady that had been in front of me was just about to cross the road about 6/8 yards away. I shouted to her to come back, she was reluctant to come but did eventually, when she was about 3 yards away, she asked what I wanted so I said have you forgotten something. She kept thanking me and hugging me, (It was a substantial amount of money). Anyway that was my good deed for the day, funnily enough I think I was shaking more than she was. lol June xx |

Wot no message from Di? I do hope she shows her face soon. It is a bad time of year for people who are inclined to suffer from depression. This is the only thread where she can join in, apart from the Canadian one, as the others won't interest her. I would love to be able to draw and paint, but this is not one of my abilities. Have tried. We have had a mist here all day and I hate it. I went out on my scooter today and it was icy cold. I went out to get some skeins of embroidery silk and found the shop closed for this morning - just my luckl They have blocked our letter boxes a bit so that if a letter is a bit thick you cannot get it through the slot. This means taking it to the Post Office. I think the reason must be so that you cannot put a bomb or suchlike in the letter box. What is the world coming to? I tried to post a handmade birthday card but it wouldn't go through the slot, so I had to go to the PO. I had a friend for tea this afternoon and whilst she was here 2 different neighbours descended on me. Life is never boring. Will close for now, love Sylvia xxx |

Hello everyone, I have had a busy two days with the charity that I am involved with so haven't been on here much, managed to read but not write, except to kathleen. Haven't got a lot of time no either because I have just spent half an hour putting photos onto the GC site. Only just learnt how to do it although there are a couple of me on Daniels photo album. Jude, loved the drawing, I showed Tony and he was most impressed, it is so lifelike. have you gone back to work yet? June did you get the card sorted out OK? It sounds complicated. Di, you are busy, busy with your needlework, hope it turns out well. I don't think I could be bothered to unpick trousers to make a pattern - too lazy!!! still, if you enjoy needlework, which I am afraid i don't these days, would rather go into a shop and buy clothes. Kathleen, you are very much in my thoughts. Sylvia, Brenda, hope all is well with you. I E mailed Elizabeth but have not had a reply so hope she is OK. Crista, nice to see you on here, and Wendy popped in yesterday from hampshire. I had a long chat 'over there' last night - surprising who you 'meet' there too. Several like me running with the hare and hunting with the hounds (am I still allowed to say that?) I think that is me for tonight. Speak tomorrow, nite nite Ann Glos |

Hello, thank you all so much for your kind messages. My daughter is keeping very positive, though she has her down times as well. She has been in touch with the McMillan nurses who are there to answer any questions and offer support. At the moment she is trying to keep busy and carry on as usual. They have done a chest x-ray and blood test, next Tuesday she goes for a mammary-scan when they will put a wire in to pin point the area to be removed. Not sure I understand exactly what that entails but doesn't sound too bad. Admission to hospital on 14th December and the operation on 15th then, providing all is well and she is not suffering too much pain she will come home after a few days. Providing it has not spread anywhere else she will have radiotherapy after Christmas, hopefully she will not need chemo if it hasn't spread. Yesterday was so dreadfully dull and overcast and did nothing to help lighten my mood so I tried to keep busy but found myself doing the same things over again - I think I folded all the towels at least twice. Kept going upstairs, then having to come down to remember what I went up for - at this rate I should lose some of that spare tyre. Today was better, the sun shone for a while and it was generally much brighter. I had an e-mail from Elisabeth last week to wish me happy birthday. She is ok but not spending much time on her computer at the moment. It is that time of year, lack of sunshine, short days and long nights I think takes it's toll on all of us at times. Haven't done anything very interesting lately but enjoy reading about all your activities, you are all very busy. June what a lucky lady that you were the next one to use that cash machine, another person might not have been so honest or she might have been gone too far for them to catch up with her. I remember the bridge very well, I had a friend who lived on your side who had ballet lessons. When her shoes wore out I used to pinch them and try to practice what I had seen her doing (I used to go to watch her lessons). Of course, because the blocks were worn they caused my toes to get very sore and bleed. However, I was determined to keep on trying - until her mother saw the state of my toes!! She made me take the shoes and drop them from the bridge into the river so that I couldn't use them again. My mother went mad when she saw the state of my feet and realised why I had been making a point of always wearing my slippers instead of going barefoot in the house. Sylvia, you do have such lovely neighbours. Mine are very nice but I don't really see them that often and the ones who used to drop in for coffee have either moved or sadly passed on. Jude, I have not yet visited the site to see your drawing but will try to find my way there later. I hope Madoc gets his leg sorted out soon, I had to laugh at the thought of Fat Cat tip-toeing round him. Hope the interview about your job went well. Brenda, do you get a long break for Christmas? Not sure when our library is open around then. Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone but I hope you are all keeping well. Thank you all again for your support. God bless Love Kathleen |
