Hi there we're back:o))))) But what a journey - we arrived at LA airport 7.30am for what we thought was to be a 9am take off for chicago - but as you may have noticed Chicago has had some awful weather and our flight was cancelled!!!!! They booked us in on another flight 9 hrs later!!!!!!!!!!! :o((((((((((((((((((((((((( but this was straight through to Heathrow, so that saved a few hours. We arrived 12noon today got collected by daughter and taken back to her flat and saw baby Eva - oh she's so gorgeous:o)) Before we left the airport our daughter told us some sad news - Jimmy is very ill and still in the vets, he's been there since Tuesday. We were going to stay the night in London but after phoning the vets decided to drive home - the vet was actually speechless once or twice and really did'nt know if he would still be alive when we got home. We were really exhausted having had no sleep since 4am Thursday - but so glad we drove home as the little pickle recognised us - he did what most cats do and nudged his head on the ground in greeting and tilted his head for me to tickle his chin, when we picked him up he purred. The vet was really thrilled (so were we) cause he'd been showing signs of depression as well. I can't remember the condition/infection he has will have to ask the vet again but its something to do with a blocked duct and the liver etc - he needs more blood tests tomorrow and possibly an ultra scan on Monday. The scan will be to see if anything nasty is lurking. He has a drip attached and is being tube fed and is still a very poorly cat. l am off't to bed now. Brenda - l saw something very quickly about starting another thread. l have'nt read any of the other messages on here yet so if you get a chance can you PM me if there is anything l should know:o)) Ta ra for now jude sarf wales :o)) xx |

Good to see you Sylvia ,and hope you enjoy your weekend ,i'm sure we will all be with you this next week with prayers and positive thoughts,in support of you. You will have to borrow a lap top so that you can chat to us while you are stuck in bed after the op',cause i can assure you ,you will be bored to tears after two days,i know i was, anyway ,we could cheer you up and tell jokes to while away the minutes . Hey Brenda,at last you have time off? ,cor blimey missus, you won't know yourself lol.lying in bed for a couple of mornings [bet you can't ]and hopefully having a few meals ,[not just one] where you don't have to cook it [utter bliss] I did manage to lift the second batch of tatties yesterday from the other barrel.the one i put over the tree stump. Because there wasn't a lot of room in the barrel because of the wood ,there wern't too many tatties to be had,but they are corkers ,big ,juicy looking and so clean that they only need to be rinced under a cold tap. I will ask my eldesrt son to get hold of a chain saw and cut off this stump at ground level ,and get that barrel replanted for next Christmas. New tatties for christmas day and christmas week are not to be sneezed at. I will still get some little plastic growing bags too and place them in odd corners of the garden leaving the veggie patch clear for other crops. Must go now ,as i have work to do,but will be back this afternoon if the missus gives me time off ,and i can get on the puter. She needed a slot of her own because the grandson in cypruss has now got his internet connection,so i have given Liz her own website and administrator rights on the puter,so i will have less time to be on myself. I had to do it honest folks ,or she would bash me. hee hee. See you later on todayhave a good weekend all.Fred. |

Afternoon folks,Fred had a nice lie in this morning ,but soon wished we hadn't had that chinese has i have had a really upset stomach today, had to cut short a trip to Bury Market. Have a few things planned for next week including have a meal or two, also going to our central library to do some research on my names. You make all this gardening sound so effortless as well fred,Good luck with the next batch of veggies. Sylvia,I am sure all will go well in the hospital, and you know that we will have be wishing you well. Glad to see you home jude, what a homecoming thougth with the cat etc. The site has been slow in the extreme the last week ,some nights i just gave up trying to get on here and we thought that starting a new thread would get us on to it quicker than this one with all the messages it has.Everything would be the same just version 2. Hope thats ok with you. Going to start the tea now,see you tomorrow,Brenda |

Hi there..........l sat and typed anuvver message earlier this afternoon and then lost the bloomin thing. Its my puter it keeps losing the net connection and tells me 'windows can't detect any wired or wireless network cards installed on my machine and to make sure card drivers are installed properly' anyone know what they are on about???? Atlast its back but don't know how long for. Sylvia - l will be thinking of you next Thursday, keep your chin up. Perhaps you could design some new cards to make or take a pen and paper and make notes of things you want to tell us. You take now ok:o)) Dorothy - will be thinking of you also and you keep your chin up aswell:o)) Brenda - l'm all for a 2nd thread, what ever you think is best. Earlier it took a while to get on here but it was much quicker just now. Jimmy Fat Cat - we saw him this morning and they are stilvery pleased with him. He's much brighter and licked 3 lots of yogart of't me finger. l'm sure the vet had a tear in her eye - she kept saying 'thats brilliant', she's such a young skinny thing bless her. His blood count was much better and another result. Still has feeding tube and a drip and on pain killers and antibiotics. They think its an infection but still can't remember what else she said apart from the bile duct and liver. We will see him again in the morning. Madoc is home - oh bless him he's been so good. He searched every room, l wonder if he was looking for Jimmy - he gave his bed a good old sniff. We took Jimmy's old bed down to the vets for him(he's got a lovely new one here from America!). Okey dokey thats it and me bed time. l will tell you more about me hols anuvver day. It was a very emotional time as well as brilliant. Night night - take care everyone. Brenda make sure you rest whilst on holiday. jude sarf wales :o) xx |

Good mornin all,not bad here this morning in Newcastle ,a little on the cool side and windy ,but dry,and compared to Canada and Oz, very lucky i reckon. I was on the Canadian thread a few minutes ago and find it is like greased lightening since the renewal,so patience comrades ,Give Brenda a little time to start enjoying her holiday before she sees to the thread,. In the meantime ,i heard that the genes tech' team where looking into the complaint i put in about the slowness ,so noticing that things have been a lot quicker over the past couple of days it seems they may have done something at least.,but this of course is only a stop gap measure ,and won't last long. Liz has been out for a little while in the greenhouse ,putting a few more seds in ,so it looks like we are well under way here .. We have also moved the two fruit trees over to where the honeysuckle was last year ,to give the birds a refuge and perching place, near the feeders and table. I really shot myself in the foot last year in removing the honeysuckle instead of just moving the B B Q,in that the birds used it to hide in and feed on the bugs ,resulting in ,bush going ,birds going [sigh] well ,we live and learn by your mistakes i suppose. I may have made an even bigger one yesterday by giving Liz her own site on the puter so that she can chat to the grandson in Cyprus ,and to her sons and daughter in blighty, with the rsult that i couldn't get near the puter yesterday afternoon ,or evening lol, talk about making a rod for your own back hee hee. Well ,i have to go peeps ,time i had the dinner on. Chicken today i think mixed veggie [steamed] stuffing out of the freezer ,a slice of home cooked ham [ditto] and gravy.,washed down with a little aspanti. See you later I HOPE lol.Fred |

Hi there - just a quickie, l should have put this message a few hours ago but what with the sadness on the candle site and getting dinner ready l forgot. Anyway - JIMMY not so fat cat is home. We got to the vets at 11am and the vet said 'l really can't see any reason to keep him here' all his results were back to normal or as good as. He's washing himself again and trying to eat little bits, he'll drink regularily now and then rests. He has anti-biotics to take still and a check up booked for Wednesday am. Madoc gave him loads of gentle nudges and sniffs, he knows there is a problem with him you can tell the way he's nudged him, normally Jimmy would have thumped back aswell. Ok off again to finish the dinns - be back later l'm sure. Liz hope you're enjoying your sessions on the puter:o)) jude sarf wales :o) xx |

hi everybody glad to read all the new messages, jude I am glad your holiday went so well, and that the cat is improving lets hope he continues, sylvia I wish you all the luck on the world and will be thinking of you this week. fred happy to see that you and the misses keep so busy, it sound like your weather is improving if you are working in the garden. brenda hope you are oer the tummy upset, sorry that you missed bury market. I am moving around much better to-day and that is just as well as at 2pm I had to evacuate the building we had a fire on the 10th floor and I am on the 11th, so I managed to get down 11 flights of stairs, my young neighbours said they have lived here for 7yrs and this was the first time they ever had to leave, anyway it was a kitchen fire and we were allowed back in after about 40 minutes out in the cold. I was upset as I could not get the boys into there carriers and there was no way I could carry them down, but when I arrived back they were fast asleep in front of the balcony window sun bathing even though it was cold to-day the sun was shining . so that was my exciting sunday. to-morrow I am going to try and drive the car to the hairdresser I am badly in need of a trim etc , bye for now dorothy |

Morning everyone from up north where it is perishing at the minute but looks promising for later in the day. Hope you get some good news from the library Brenda,Liz and i are off to the civic centre this week because they moved the records from the central library when they closed down for a refurbishment, any way i am hoping to get he gen on two of my very early rellies, and i hope the birth certificates for both of them, mainly so i can find out who the parents were. Morning Sylvia, good luck for later in the week, and [ahem ] i think it will be US keeping our beady eyes on you ,so behave, and get well quickly. To everyone else who isn't too chipper at the minute ,get well soon to,we need you all fit and rarin' to go now that spring is nearly here. Liz did well yesterday and had the luck to log on as Sean was coming on line too ,so she actually got to speak to him via msn messenger, hee hee ,her fingers were a blur ,i will have to watch my laurels if this keeps up,but it's nice to see her with a new interest besides her books and quizzes she is so fond of. Anyway ,we are set up here with speakers and mic' so we are waiting noe for the grandson to do likewise. The lad has settled down well,is a qualified diverso i expect he will be doing a lot of wreck searching ,coupled with some underwater fishing for lobster which he is very fond of. He has booked a week off at the end of this month ,so we will be seeing him shortly. Where he is though ,he should be exploring other countries on his time off ,there are so many places to see without coming home every two minutes,Egypt for one,i always wanted to see the valley of the kings but never managed it,just my luck that the middle east was in crisis both times i was there sods law i reckon, and i can't go now ,there is no way i would leave liz behind ,and she can't walk well enough to go traipsing over the desert lol. The first of the few tatties went down very well with yesterdays dinner, and the few left i will do liz for her dinner cxubed and fried in oil .along with an egg for her dinner while i have my rice salad. There are enough left to do one more meal, and i have four big ones left for jacket tatties on wednesday, and the taste? well worth growing your own ,but i will move the bin a little closer to the house this year where i can get to them easier ,for Christmas week lol. Glad to hear fat cat is somewhat better Jude,i think pining for you ,and Madoc had a lot to do with it as well though, cats with all their independant ways can be funny like that ,when they are a little off colour they do not like changes. Next time ,you will have to smuggle him in your case somehow lol. Looks like we will be down that way in september ,for a week in Anglesea so we will wave to you on the way through lol. The other place we might end up is Beumarris[spelling]in a private park where we have been before ,complete with a lovely view of the straits from the caravan window which is high on the hillside. Well ,i had better go and get a shave ,i never got one yesterday and it wsn't well recieved by the boss,so i don't think i had better push my luck ,and she who must be obeyed will be up shortly lol.See you later,Fred. |

Morning all:o)) Eeee Fred you write great letters and like Sylvia you're always busy. Jimmy is in good form this morning - he wants to eat, but none of the five packets l've opened!!!!!!! lol so l've cooked some chicken:o) he did take some yogart earlier though. He allows Madoc to sniff and nudge him loads more than he used to, he has'nt clunked him once yet!! The weather her is glorious, its very wet but not raining now and the sun is shining - if it stays like this l might get into the garden and have a mini sort out. l should have gone walkies with Vic and Madoc - praps later:o) Our holiday started on 7th Feb when we left here for a hotel near Heathrow and after settling in our daughter arrived to collect the car. We had a meal together which was great cause we had extra time with her (she's a gem). Next morning we were up at 3am grrrrrrr, first thing we looked for was the snow - NONE- then half hr later it was pouring down!!! by 7am London had 2-3 inches. We flew to Munich then had 5 hrs before our flight to New York (JFK). Unfortunately we did'nt have a window seat, would loved to have seen the view as we landed of New York sky line (is that what they call it??), it was dark aswell- we did see loads of lights though. All the security blimey, shoes off, coat off, loose change in a box with m/phone jewellery, finger prints, photo's and the expressionless faces asking 'why are you here'!!!!. Collected our cases and out through the last door to be surrounded by taxi touts. We sorted ourselves out got some cash and something to nibble on, found a yellow cab (not hard as they were all lined up outside) and then phoned my cousin - oh my god she screamed with delight on the phone, l was booing, Vic and the taxi driver must have been thinking 'womeeeeeen'. Ok the next bit later as Vic is back with Madoc and they both need rubbing down!!!! lol jude sarf wales :o) x |
