Hi all, After reading Fred's news, mine seems so uninteresting. I've been looking at the calender for next two weeks and it's all hospital or surgery appointments for one thing or the other. Now to crown it all I have developed toothache, so will have to get that sorted out before I go into hospital. Never a dull moment here. This morning it was drizzling, but later the weather became drier. See you all tomorrow. I wonder how Jude is getting along? Sylvia xxx

Has anybody else noticed it is Valentines Day? No romanticism here I am afraid. Johan calls it commercialism. Therefore no cards, no nothing, boo hoo. I went to the dentist today as I have had trouble with a tooth which gives me pain when I drink anything hot or cold. He took a photo but couldn't find anything wrong. I reminded him of a similar circumstance a few years back and when I got to Spain the tooth in question broke off. It was also a tooth with a gold crown on! The weather is enough to make one search for the sun, but I guess we'll have to sit this one out and wait until the hospital visit is over. Have a nice evening everyone. Sylvia xxx

Hiya all, cor, made it at last after trying to get on here for twenty minutes, methinks all this advertising genes on the tv as a free site is causing a lot of problems with freebe people swamping the site.Hey Sylvia ,i had the same happen with a tooth a few years ago ,the pain starting for the same reasons in the same way ,and it turned out to be a fracture betwen the tooth and the crown, and mine did indeed shear off at a later date. My missus got her flowers yesterday.AND i did her a special meal of ham slices ,turkey slices ,carrot batons ,mashed ,and boiled new potatoes ,cabbage, and calabrese .doused in a lovely beef gravy, the last ingedient being a very nice homemade stuffing, must admit ,it went down very well.I do agree with Pip in a wat though ,it is a racket now ,but i have always got the missus flowers ,but no card for the ssame reasons as Pips. It isn't too bad here this morning ,nice and mild ,but threatening rain very shortly. We won't be hearing direct from Jude for a while i see ,but the message on here this morning shows that she is enjoying herself out there and may get some snippets from time to time. I am offf now seeing as we are due to recieve visitors shortly, from the council no less who seem to be concerned about Liz,maybe they think i am ill treating her ,yeah ,right lol,it's more likely me that needs protection if they upset her,cor [shudders ] it don't bear thinking about Hee Hee.Fred.

Hi all, Well another Spring-like day with more and more Spring flowers showing their heads through the open ground. Too many mole bumps too. It seems they have had multiple births during the winter judging by the numbers of bumps all over the grass, including the football field. I went out on my scootmobile and met my doctor doing her shopping too. When I came back my granddaughter was here with a gorgeous bunch of tulips for me. She is a real dear and phones me nearly every day. She is now off tomorrow to celebrate Carnaval. I hope she enjoys herself. She is going south with 5 girlfriends - all friends since school, all 24 years of age and all single, nice-looking girls! Have to be up early tomorrow for another x-ray of my stomach. Must not forget to go without breakfast! Nice to see Jude enjoying herself. I bet she misses Madoc though. See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Morning all,up with the larks this morning after upsetting the missushee hee,the smoke alarm started cheeping at one this morning ,you know the sort of thing i reckon this cheep chep every thirty seconds to tell you that the battery is low. Weeeell ,i was warm toastie and comfie ,NO Way Was i moving out of my bed to pull a battery out at one in the morning ,so ,i did a man thing and pulled the duvet up over my shell like and went to sleeplol. Oh ,the looks this morning ,seems liz crawled out of bed at three after trying to get me to go to no avail Hee Hee ,i know i will suffer the rest of the day for it ,but a man has to have these small victories once in a while.. It didn't help when my son nearly choked me with a remark he made about Ann yesterday afternoon. There was ann, struggling with the new washing machine [these tyneside women are not very mechanically minded you know]lol. After a few minutes she exploded ,this b****y machine is useless.and i can't understand how to bring up the programmes, you will have to do it Stevie ,so our lad goes over to it,fiddles about for two minutes and off it goes,as the son turns to Ann and says ,huh, what's the problem, there is nowt wrong with the programmes ,i can get bbc 1 and two itv and discovery. Old Fred choked on his coffee sending it all down my jumper as i creased up ,what a brave lad ,a real chip off the old block, but not wise, as i think Ann and Liz train in the ring together. Frerd did the wise thing and took the only sensible female for a walk, cummon Mia ,lets go down the park for a bit of peace Hee hee. My lad is brave,Ann is no bigger than liz ,around five foot nothing ,but she is a typical tynesider better in the trenches in a battle than many of the males and even more volatile in temper than the son ,i would have liked to be a fly on the wall last night after we left.it would have been a hoot. Our Jude sounds to be enjoying her holiday ,i do hope she gets to see all the things she was looking forward to see .Off to get the radiator key now ,but will be back ,if i can get on here without havinhg to join a two mile queue Fred..

Hi all, Nice to see some of you back again. Lovely weather again. My neighbour is back home again after surgery on his eye. He was lucky to have caught this in time otherwise he would have been blind. Took him up some chocolate as he has a sweet tooth. Made some more cards so that I have cards for all the birthdays I have in March. My ex son in law came round with his wife for a drink. It is so nice that I still have loving caring people round me. Thinking of my granddaughter at Carnival, which is one round of drinking and dancing! I made 3 bread today which Johan will slice and put in the freezer. I now have 11 meals in the freezer for Johan for when I am in hospital. Just need putting in the microwave. Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

Morning everyone, from a cold house in Newcastle where the heating and hot water are on strike ..I think either we have a huge airlock in the heater itself,or the pump has gone ,not to worry though ,i have two emergancy gas heaters ,and one electric fan heater in the bedroom,so at least i can keep Liz warm till the engineer comes out. Sorry to hear about your back Dorothy ,it sounds painful ,and very dibilitating ,and i hope you will recover quickly. Sylvia sounds very positive and cheerful, mind the bread sounds lovely ,and i think i will make a couple of loaves myself today ,to keep in practice . Dinner today is a kalgannon, with a beef stew, nice ,simple ,and tasty. We were going to have it yesterday but we had a phone call from Martin yesterday at 11-30 asking us to go over there ,and decided to go and see him and Chris for the afternoon. We have the daughter and family coming to dinner and tea this coming Sunday,so i am looking at ideas for a special dinner,so ,any ideas considered, bearing in mind that my ruddy son in law does not eat pork[ and i have a lovely rack in the freezer ,too big for Liz and me grrrrrr. It looks a bit queer here this morning, quite a lot like snow ,but it's too mild for that [i hope]. Hope everyone is okay and enjoying themselves, and for those of you that arn,t.never mind ,the weekend isn't too far away.see you later.Fred.
