Hi there:o) Brenda how is your headache and what was the show like, you have'nt got back to us?? Fred you are funny - you've had me in stitches reading about your poor Liz putting the washing out. Bet you've got a real cauliflower ear now!!!??? And those poor feathered friends, fancy not opening the greenhouse door for him:o(( Whats the situation with your son and his landlord now - has he somewhere else to live? Let us know if you come to Wales on that mini holiday - perhaps we could meet the two of you and you could meet Madoc. Sylvia - how are you??Have you had any more storms? You'll never guess what we saw yesterday - TWIN LAMBS, oh they were beautiful. Apparently the sheep in this particular field are all expecting twins or triplets and there are approx 20-30 sheep. Field opposite have 11 single lambs already. Now l thought lambs appear in March/April!! l did'nt go out on the walk this morning as l had jobs to do and then Madoc had to visit the vets - he's limping now on his left front and back leg (always got a limp on back because of his accident before we had him). He fell off a small wall a few months ago and injured the front leg - anti-inflamatories sorted it at the time but something has set it off again - so more anti whats its and back next Fri with the possabilty of xrays. He's also been scratching his ear again and when vet looked right inside she could see hairs and the skin is inflamed - the other ear does'nt have these hairs - sooooooooooooo if this continues he might have to have the hairs removed - whats he like!!!!??? Also yesterday l ruined 4 items of clothing and a dressing gown belt (towelling). Yep l'm a plonker - l put aload of washing in machine, mostly whites one brand new white t-shirt and a pair of brown trouser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what was l doing - l can only say l honestly thought it was the type of material that would'nt run. So l then thought l would be clever and soak the slightly pinky/off white t-shirts and belt in bleech - that made no difference, and to top it all l splashed some on my new trousers so they are now ruined - grrrr l did'nt know Bill had been in hospital again - he seems to have spent alot of time in those places over the years ! hope he is well Pat - a paw from Madoc:o)) Take care everyone. jude sarf wales :o) xx

Brenda Report 21 Jan 2007 17:57

Afternoon all, from a really wind nd hailstone battered, rain swept miserable manchester. Fred I must admit for a tiny second on getting up and peeping through the curtains I had the same idea as the Mrs.Soon changed my mind when I realised HOW windy and cold it was. Dorothy and Jude,it was the stage version of Mama Mia and was fantastic,we did a have a bop at the end, but on the front row of the circle it was a bit limited but we still tried getting across town in thw high winds and grid locked traffic was a nightmare,we also had to walk back across town when it finished so it was a bit of a trek each wayThe show was that good we thought it was worth every step. Poor Madoc ,jude he does seem to get into some scrape or other hope his ears and leg are ok. Good on you dorothy digging out your car and going to the gym, proud of you time for a cup of tea,see tou all either tomorrow or Tuesday.Brenda

Hiya Just a quickie:o) Walked with Vic and Madoc again this morning - oooo l am getting good:o) Good grief Dorothy - well done you re the car and the gym. How long are you at the gym for.l've just started back and this time Vic joins us, we do about an hour, gawd thats more than enough for me - don't think l would have dug the car out and gone to the gym. Brenda - the show sounds great,l've heard loads of people say how good it is, pleased you enjoyed it:o) Madoc's legs are better today, the anti-inflamatories are working. Vic thinks he won't need an xray because he's not limping now but l'd rather he did have one - this is from a fall 2-3 months ago, so it must be bothering him, plus whilst he's under the anesthetic he can have the ear sorted - bless him. Oh yeh he went for a dog on the morning walk - no damage done fortunately,he's not a fighter, but goodness knows what got into him. He spied the other dog through the bushes and wooosh he was gone. He makes alot of noise when he's on a lead and see's other dogs, sounds horrific:o( Hope everyone is well - take care:o) jude sarf wales :o) xx

Gooooood morning all,hey ,we don't know oursefves here on Tyneside this morning ,not too cold ,sunny ,and, not a trace of wind [wahey]. I'm glad in a way too because the assessors arrive this morning [i hope] to inspect the roof ,re ,repairs, after the roof got a bit of a howking [northern idiom] for getting seven shades of s*** knocked out of it lol. The daughter in laws foot is a lovely shade of pink now after they put a plaster on it yesterday after she broke it after it turns out my daft son stuck out his foot in fun as she walked past him a few days ago. What i said to him is unrepeatable and left him cringing in the corner ,big as he is [so i havn't lost the knack ]and it shows in the extra respect the older grandchildren showed me afterwards,i don't somehow think they will ever try to push me in the future.even poor Mia hid in the corner for an hour ,then sidled onto my lap and kept trying to lick my face as though to say,you ain't mad at me are yer, lol. But i ask you ,how daft can you get,i have my daft minutes often but have never tried to do daft things like that ,even in fun,but having said that ,my son showed a lot of attention to his wife all yesterday afternoon ,so pehaps the ear bashing i gave him was worth it.i hope so cause i couldnt have a nicer daughter in law ,and she has my respect for the way she runs the family. Poor little Madoc ,he is getting wrong again,he wouldn't be a dog if he didnt bark at other dogs as they go past lol,the time to worry Jude is if you have the lead wrapped round your wrist, can't let go ,get dragged through the hedge after him and come out the other side looking like aunt sally off werzel gummage, lol. I reckon you are def getting there with him anyway, and it would be a good idea for the xray, there may be a hairline crack in the bone there that wants treatedand besides ,as you sy ,they could do his ear poor fella,it must drive him up the wall,it's not nice to have an itch you can't scratch, you know the sort, the kind you get in a cinema and can't have a go at it till the lights go down unless everyone stares at you hee hee, much worse for Madoc seeing as he can't get his paw into his ear for a bit of relief. Hope everone is fit ,well and rarin' to go this nice [nearly spring] morning, have a nice day all ,see ya later,Fred.

Hi everyone o|:o) Oh my goodness is'nt it cold - brrrrrrrrrrrr - in a few weeks time we will be in New York!!!!! where it is much colder - l've actually bought a hat today, hate them but l know l'll need it. Then we're in Denver where it could be even colder!!!! but how exciting all the same:o)))))) Dorothy - good for you re the gym, sounds like you're doing better than us - l tend to be a abit of a wimp!!! Fred - hope the roof is sorted now. How is your d.i.l. ?? that son of yours, whats he like?? Training day today - which went very well. Oooooo that Madoc is so quick! We did re-call today. l tried it as soon as we got home and it almost worked!! He has a habit of charging down the bottom of the garden and eating the birds food that they have spilt onto the ground - usually when l call him he completely ignores me, but today he responded much quicker - we're definately getting there. The other day when he barked at that dog - he did'nt just bark at him he went in as if to fight all guns blarin, little tike, but he came after a couple of calls. Oh gawd this morning we met the one person (apart from the postie!!) Madoc does not like. This has come about because the man often looks after his sons dog and its usually in the back garden when Vic and Madoc walk past. Well the 2 dogs have a none friendly relationship so when ever he sees the man he smells and senses the dog - this morning though the man was 50yds away and Madoc knew him. The poor man had to walk out in the road - we used the water pistol which helped, but how worrying for that poor man!! In that kind of situation l really don't know if Madoc would bite or not. Fat cat's turn now:- Poor old Fat cat (Jimmy really), some nights he sleeps on the end of our bed, as he did last night - well l decided to stretch me legs out and heard a thump on the floor!!! oh bless him l had kicked him off along with his blanket - could'nt see his face, bet it was a picture!!! l got out and lifted him back on and then got a clout from him:o))))))))) he's fine! He loves a game, anything that dangles he'll grab it, which might include Madoc's tail!!:o) Ok its time to start the tea, before 'Neighbours' and be ready to watch 'Master Chef' Take care everyone. jude sarf wales :o) xx

Hi, I thought I'd better show my face. The truth is I've been enjoying all your tales that I don't get round myself to saying anything. Not that I have anything nearly so funny as Jude's 'dog and cat tales'. I'm afraid my life at the moment is one round of doctors visits and taking pills. When I go to bed I say to myself 'now, did I take that little pink pill at 11.00' and 'Oh I shouldn't have eaten before that green pill'. Not nice reading but that is just how my life is at the moment. I bought a nice cover for myself on the scootmobile on the internet. It has a red furry inside and waterproof on the outside. However, it is a bit too small. The woman from whom I bought it makes them herself so is going to make a larger one for me. Must have room to get in and out easily. Anyway we gave this cover to our daughter more than two weeks ago to bring to this woman and have now found out that she is sitting on it at home. We had an e-mail from the woman to say if we don't take it back soon then we won't be able to take it back at all. We have been looking at the weather forecast as there is snow forecast. We are hoping to go on Thursday. It is a good two hour's drive away. I am not looking forward to it at all. We have first of all to pick up this cover at our daughters then take it to the woman who makes them. I cannot understand my daughter as she is free from work all this week. I thought she had delivered the cover long ago. Have a nice evening, until tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hiya - l've just taken a peak back here before doing some emails. Dorothy l don't know why but l thought you lived in Canada - ooo er, to think l will be that near to you. We're only there for 2 days, then onto Denver for 2 days, then onto California for 2 and half weeks. This is a trip of a life time for us and very special - we are meeting a cousin in NY that l have never met before, only in cyber space emails - and my half brother & sister whom l have'nt seen in 30yrs, then Vics family - most of them have been over here during the last 4yrs. As you can see we won't have a great deal of time to do much - what a shame:o( The dog is going to a dog sitter - he goes there if we go away, he loves it,get 2 walks a day and plays with their dog. They are an elderly couple who do this because they love dogs and it gives them abit of pocket money. I'm afraid most of the training Madoc's had recently will go down the pan whilst with them, its not fair to expect them to do all what we do. Fat cat will be looked after by a couple of neighbours, plus our son is staying here at various times. He and his wife like bringing friends here to enjoy the fresh air, the scenery and the gorgeous town we live near - so the house will never be empty and Fat cat will be content. Enjoy the tennis - Vic loves it :o) Sylvia - do hope you get the cover sorted, slap your daughters wrists!! lol. Do you still make cards?? you'll have to remind me of how l can see them. Do you have one of the medicine boxes with all the compartments for the week.l think you can get 7days worth of tablets in - l would think they are very useful. How is your granddaughter does she still come and do some jobs for you?? and the little lady upstairs, how is she?? We had a frost this morning, really crunchy to walk on, which was great as Madoc did'nt need a quick hose down when we got home. Okay l'm off now to check out my emails. Keep smiling:o)) jude sarf wales :o) xx

Hi everyone ,what a busy lot of beavers these past few days ,i feel quite remiss, but never mind i'm here now. Sounds as though you have a touch of angina Dorethy, you should either have tablets to place under your tongue or a spray and in the cold weather you should take this medication a good few minutes before going out in the cold, you should then feel more comfortable.but mind ,no ice skating now, lol. I hope you enjoy your trip Jude, sounds great ,and if you are in the area be sure to visit the grand canyon ,i'm told by rellies that the sight is unbelievable. Fat cat and Madoc sound as if they are going to be well looked after and won't come to any harm. It's gone all dark and dingy here in the past few minutes so i reckon we are either going to get piddled on again ,or, it's goin' to snow ,and just when i was thinking of getting myself down the town ,sigh, never mind ,i will take the car to the station and then get the metro which will save me standing about waiting for a bus . I have my haggis in ready for tomorrow nigjht and it looks as though the eldest son will be comingto join us,because he is a bit of a poet who has had some stuff published in the past ,and won a prize in the litarary circles in the states, anyway ,Rabbie Burns is his hero ,so i reckon after the meal we will be getting our ears bashed a bit with his ,and Rabbie's poems . Looking out back i see our birds have emptied the seed feeders again ,so i must remember to get some sunflower seeds from Wilkies, they seem to go down quicker than anything else. I'm off now to get myself organised,so i will see ya later, have a nice day all.Fred.

goodmorning I am very sleepy the tennis was on till 2am but very enjoyable, yes fred I do carry a nitro spray but for some reason only need to use it at airports, if I cover my mouth most of the time I manage, I do take a lot of meds but as they keep me quite healthy I really can't complain, the stent they put in my heart did not work and due to a quirk of nature a bypass is not a good bet as the top part of the heart is narrow and grafting on to it is risky. but it will be 6yrs since I was watching tiger woods play and the heat attack happened luckly as a nurse I knew what was happening and got help fast, now for all intents I am very well. enough of that I hope that you enjoy the haggis. the british and scottish store in town will be having some in . just read the weather in the bbc for bury and lewes(where the daughter in laws mothers is stayin) bury looks ok for to-day but lewes to get snow, well I am off to the shops and libary and the gym to-morrow is the day we are all going to freeze so thought I would get on with things to-day and of course tennis to-night bye for now dorothy
