Further to my 'news' this morning, I now know that 2 Grandmasters, 6 International Masters and 2 FIDE Masters were part of the opposition! Sorry, but after all the terrible news from Russia, it is so nice to report something uplifting. Dilys |

Our son, Jon, entered the Illinois State Chess Championship this last week-end and won 4 out of 5 games (played over two days), only losing to a Grandmaster. The overall winner had 4 wins and 1 draw. What a result for Jon. He played on the England Under 21 Squad for nearly six years so is still flying the flag, out there, in the windy city!! |
