Hi all I'm Sue Seldon (Kilpatrick) and I live in Langley Vale, which is a village nestling on the slopes of Epsom Downs in the glorious Surrey countryside (estate agents speak! LOL). I was born in Southfields, South West London, and have lived in Wimbledon Park, North Cheam, West Wimbledon, North Cheam (again), Epsom Common and now Langley Vale since 1978. I have been married to Doug for 36 years and we have 2 sons and 2 daughters aged between 33 and 20, and 3 grandaughters and a grandson aged between 11 and 5 who all live within 5 miles of us. I was a registered childminder for about 25 years until I 'retired' almost 3 years ago. Doug had a serious accident whilst riding his beloved motor bike in May 1995 and hasn't been able to work since and is registered disabled. I run creches for a local charity on an 'as & when' basis, usually for 8 weeks at a time, 3 times a year. I also now work part time for our local vehicle breakdown/recovery company. I have 5 cats and a very old goldfish! My hobbies are genealogy, crochet, knitting and novelty cake making - oh and my grandchildren! Sue xx |

Anthony has two sons and Simon has two girls. I was born in Walton-on-Naze Essex and lived in England till 1974 when we emigrated to Western Australia. Kathleen Patricia (nee Gannon) age - younger than Len!!!! but what's a couple of years between friends. :-) Been a widow for nearly 23 years. Born in London (Tooting) lived all over the place, didn't spend two Christmases in the same house as a youngster. Have lived near Heathrow for 44 years, so did settle in one place eventually. Five sons, two daughters, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 (soon to be 3) gt.grandchildren several neices and nephews and quite a lot of gt.neices and nephews. Hi everyone, I'm Christine Ramsay (Nicolson) I'm 43 and will have been married to John for 22yrs this coming Saturday. I was born in Glasgow and lived there 'til I was 19. I was training to be a nurse then I met John, packed in the nursing (big regret) and moved through to Edinburgh beside him. He was made redundant from his job in July and is enjoying a break, and getting under my feet, before he looks for another job. We have four kids Darren 19, who has long hair, flesh tunnels and subjects us to listening to metal (or should that be MENTAL) music, Nicola 17, who has just came back from a weekend in Blackpool with her tongue pierced!, Kirsteen who's 10 and my wee surprise bairn Lewis, 4. I was working in my daughters school with children with reading difficulties, but gave it up 2 yrs ago. Love camping in the Scottish highlands, I know, Mad! I do most things to excess, eating... hence the figure, smoking... about 30 a day, and spending hubby's redundancy money. The only thing I don't do a lot of is sleep, 'bout 4 hrs a night. Sorry Paul, you said to introduce ourselves not write a biography! Oh and I talk too much LOL Christine |

Maggie, the concrete cows are in a field by a stream just off one of the grid roads, near Stacey Bushes/Old Bradwell/Bancroft. I think they were meant to symbolise the fact that it's a rural city. |

Hi Paul - Great Idea especially for us newbies as you all seem to know each other. Hello to everyone else too. I was born Margaret Claire Sidonie but tend to use Maggie but get called Mags. I'm 36 going on 18 somedays and 90 on others! I was born in Durban, South Africa and moved to Rhodesia when I was 5 which became Zimbabwe when I was 12, I came to England 16 years ago and lived in Newcastle upon Tyne for 8 years until I met my partner of ten years now, then I moved to live with them in Doncaster, South Yorks. We have seven cats and I have a brother living in Milton Keynes (I've never seen the concrete cows - where are they?) My brother lives with his wife and my beautiful (I'm not biased at all!!) nephew who is 1yr. I work for a charity. I am new to genealogy but can see it becoming a full time hobby. My other fav passtimes are reading sci/fi & fantasy and any other book I can lay my hands on, DIY, camping and generally having fun. I've enjoyed reading about you all and lookforward to some fun times on this site with you. Maggie |
