Hi Gaynor - immense admiration for you as always, don't think I'd find it as easy as you to keep my sense of humour. All the very best for Thursday - I think you probably would rather know one way or the other what you're up against so I hope the results come through quickly. We will all be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts. I am looking forward to meeting you at last on the 12th so hope you will be well enough to still attend. Love Maz. XX

Have had so many emails, cards and letters – I guess I owe it to you all. Now, you know me pretty well by now – Mrs “Don’t Beat About the Bush” Honesty. For those of you who do bother to read this – PLEASE remember one thing – the cancer that I have is very RARE (don’t want to be accused of scaremongering – lol). Well, the latest news is that on Thursday I have to have a brain scan. Why? I have suffered for the past 7 – 10 days with the most evil headaches. The pain is that bad, that they wake me up in the morning and I feel sick – and this wimp has been reduced to tears. It becomes bearable after about an hour – but never goes away – pain killers don’t touch it. So my only respite from this is while I am asleep. Apparently I have all the symptoms of intracranial pressure – meaning the cancer could have spread to my brain (probably make me more mental than I already am lol). The only thing that will tell us for sure is a CAT scan. There is a 70% chance that with this type of cancer it spreads to the brain – yuk. Jack (my daughter) is just as stupid as me – said to her I hope I never get to the stage where I didn’t know her. She sent me email, saying that if I didn’t know her – she’d call me Ethel (sorry to all Ethels out there) – you gotta laugh. And………grrrrr – back on the damn steroids that stop me sleeping !!!! Oh what joy!!!! I was on 2 tablets a day for 4 days at the start of each chemo session, I was on 4 a day throughout radiotherapy and NOW – grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr – they have put me on 8 a day. Apparently they are the only thing to relieve intracranial pressure. Noticed a strange thing today too. I can no longer write properly with a pen – the coordination isn’t there anymore – praise the keyboard !!!! How am I in spirit? Hope you can all tell by this message :-)))) Although my body seems to be rapidly fading, I have not lost (as many of my messenger friends tell me) me sense of humour. I am not a worrier – as Jack my daughter will tell you and others, I only worry over what I can control – so in that respect I think myself very lucky. I am just so grateful that I found a lot of you and this site. To finish off – don’t know yet when I’ll get the CAT scan results but will let you know – honest. Love and chirpy hugs to all Gaynor xxxx
