David's funeral was on the 11 Feb at the St Michael's church which is opposite my house. That it was nearly full was testament to his popularity. I had a little smile through the tears as the organist had a few wrong notes in 'all things bright and beautiful'. David would have giggled. Elvis's 'In the Ghetto' and the Monkees 'Daydream Believer' were played at the crematorium. His favorites. David faced his end with humor and incomparable courage. He had all the nurses laughing only hours before his death. Sadly for too short a time, this 'grumpy old dad' is profoundly proud to have been the father of such a star. Bob

Bob. How lucky you were to have a son like David, if only for a short time and how lucky David was to have you, Lorraine and Christopher. You are all in my thoughts. May time heal your pain. Jean x.
