Hi again Lynda He says 'sorry, but in line with most critics, I don't give refunds':)) He also said, seriously, he would love to know what the production is like after you have been please. That's why it's sometimes difficult to recommend a play, as the production can make all the difference. Chrissie x

Hi Lynda Sorry, I only just spotted your query about Journeys End. Hubby hasn't seen the new version, he saw it years ago. He says it is a good play. He loves anything at the theatre, so if you need company I'll put him on the train :)) Chrissie p.s. Hubby just said 'If they're doing it in London it will be good, they'll give it the works. Whatever that means :))

Great idea for a thread! SNF is fab! Lion King is amazing--wonderful costumes, music, etc. Jerry Springer is hysterical! But not for the faint-hearted! I really fancy 'Journey's End' and also 'Mary Poppins'.

Mags Report 17 Feb 2005 19:51

Lynda - It was a wonderful production - but it must have taken a week for the hairs to go down on the back of my neck...and as for the music in my head! As for going on after the meet - Next time - you're ON !! Magsxx

Sarah I think most things at the Theatre are good, whoever it's for. Even if what I have gone to see isn't very good, I look at the scenery, and think how clever it is. If you can get your kids into liking the Theatre at a young age hopefully it is something that will stay with them forever. Then they always have an interest in something.

i went to the theatre just before xmas with my kids and a friday club they go to. we saw the ugly duckling....i know it's a kids thing but with 3 people doing it and bringing in a few other story titles is was really good. they kept the kids interested for the whole hour of the show

Cor mags if I'd of known you were a Theatre goer we could have booked in for saturday night after 'The do' Phantom was great eh? Yvette I saw 5 guys named Mo and thorughly enjoyed it. Last show I saw was The Rat Pack. That is fantastic, especially as I am a Sinatra fan. My Father in Law came, he loved it too and we will go again to see it. Lynda

I love the Theatre, and have enjoyed many, many shows over the years, but my two favourites have got to be Me and My Girl and 5 Guys named Mo, have seen them both twice and would go again, and again, and again. Yvette

Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Phantom of the Opera at The Hippodrome in Bristol - absolutely wonderful productions! In Phantom - 'he' swung from the back of the theatre to the stage on a chandelier - WOW! And how in Les Mis - they depicted the suicide from the bridge I have no idea - but it gave me vertigo! lol Also saw Art in London - when it had Richard Griffiths in it - small theatre and can't for the life of me remember the name now - but I laughed so much (I was up in London on a course and therefore on my own) - that the bloke sitting next to me got up and moved!! LOL I've also seen the Old Vic theatre school productions of A Christmas Carol and Frankenstein - both absolutely brilliant - Nearly had a heart attack when Frankenstein came up through a trap door virtually at my feet - with the theatre in absolute darkness!! lol If anyone gets the chance to go to The Torch theatre in Milford Haven too (hope it's still there!) then GO! - We saw that 'Scottish Play' there - and the whole theatre was done out like the inside of a castle - wonderful! AND the drunken gatekeeper appeared to 'pee' on stage - it was hard not to laugh too much. AND to top it all - there was a 'bar show' afterwards where the whole of the cast - including one or two well known faces - had fun and games (literally) with the theatre goers - great laugh!. Magsxx
