Anne, Would you believe 35in* inside leg? Had to take my shoes off to avoid being knocked out downstairs in the pub at Victoria (and that WAS by the low ceilings, I hasten to add ;>))) !) * I had to change that - despite me writing speech marks to represent inches, it kept appearing as an apostrophe!
