Patricia, this is on my Mam's side, Dixon....there are a lot of them on this site, just under 25,000 to date, so i get contacted pretty often.. Total opposite on my paternal side, I haven't even found his mother yet lol

Oh Hashbrowns, I was wondering when I'd get to try those out on someone lol, wasn't it you gave me the recipe Deb? No red squirrels here Christine, not that i've seen anyway...it's a shame, they're our native species, the grey squirrels were illegal immigrants lol

Yes Paul it was moi. The ones I had today were still slightly on the frozen side! Now tell me, how can you serve hashbrowns that came out of a plastic bag from the freezer? They have to be the real thing. They had the nerve to charge $8.00 for the meal (3 pounds 50p) sorry pound sign on my keyboard.

I'M TRYING... I'M TRYING!...now tie this dog up! Perhaps if I took me boiler suit off.....She thinks I'm a dustman....dogs don't like dustmen.... Will do Christine! - a better person than me by far! (and I wasn't fishing for compliments - but if you really think that - thanks! :-) I enjoy scribbling I just wish we had more people! It's difficult to get any interaction going with so few - we tend to be on the thread at different times . It's NOT a closed shop! - Just looks that way sometimes unfortunately. We were about to have a 'recruitment drive' when The Hotel came 'on stream' - so we didn't - Wouldn't have been fair would it? - It isn't a competition!! LOL) Right DEFINITELY going now!

That is the key question Gwynne!, Gran never spoke of them much, as they never really got on!, Dad keeps saying Ashdon (Essex), but I'm not sure am hoping this cert. will reveal something, but seeings he was in India, not very likely I expect it will say England, all I know is he was born Jan 26th 1868, and have now found out his first wife was called Elizabeth, but am hoping he married here and not in India, (he was Quarter Master Sgt. In Army), so am getting there slowly, have a few photo's, just have to keep badgering Dad...
