A presentation would be superb Pink... I'd love to meet some of these people (men!) who organise these things.... (Bec looks dreamily into the distance as she remembers Rob the outdoors adventure instructor she was once involved with.... <sigh>)

I am hoping to organise something where we all meet up and get scared witless by a presentation from the adventure company if you are all up for that but that won't be until Oct/Nov time! Any other meets are always a good idea too!! Pink xx

Well i have started getting my sponsers now, i have managed to convince our account customers at work (well the ones i'v seen anyway) to take one of my sponser forms to there companies and get their staff and customers to sponser me. So i could do with my ref number to put on my forms. Only trouble i'm having is trying to get people to understand they need to give the money when the sponser and not after the event, is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

jack The sahara varies from 'hilly' sand dunes to flat hard surface

Paul, great idea, I would defo love to come on one of your walking expeds, as long as they wouldn`t mind a young, mad female!

Paul I work in MK so if you want to meet sometime & have a trek i'm up for it. If you know northamptonshire at all the Weandel walk is on in a few weeks time - 14th may rings a bell - distances from 10 to 26 miles walked. Tracey -x-

Last time I went to the Peak district I was gasping after an hour - was ok on the downhill parts but struggled going up. Is the sahara flat or hilly? (yes - I am a bit thick!!) Jack x

by the way, I've found out that some of the people in my company that work in Derby have a walking society - they go on hikes in the peak district. I got invited along to a 20 mile hike this weekend, but since I'm not feeling that well, I didn't think I was quite up to it ! I've asked them to let me know of future events though, they're happy for me to tag along, and I'm sure they wouldn't object if I bought a friend or 10 lol

Good thinking Paul. How about a weekend in September? We could meet on a campsite and practise sleeping in tents lol

Bec Report 27 Apr 2005 15:39

Did you say rucksack? Do Louis Vuitton do a rucksack range? As I won't be carrying mine it doesn't matter whether mine has a waist strap surely? lol Becx

meeting up is a good idea, I'd suggest late summer though - that way if anyones struggling with the fundraising, we can all lend a hand... since 80% of the money has to be paid by January, if we left it till the end of the year it could be too late

Kerry

Kerry Report 27 Apr 2005 15:37

That is a great Idea.I`m looking forward to the London meet as I`ve never met anyone yet and it`ll be great to see the rest of the mad bunch that I am doing this brilliant journey with

Tracey

Tracey Report 27 Apr 2005 15:36

sounds like an excellent idea Jack. i suppose we could have a quick practise walk - to the pub - as well!

Jack (Sahara)

Jack (Sahara) Report 27 Apr 2005 15:35

I think we should have a Sahara meet towards the end of the year so we can sit down and discuss who is taking what and how we are doing with fundraising. I'm happy to share anything of mine but not sure anyone would want to share my roll on lol Jack x
