I know it's a little way off to be thinking of this particular idea but wouldn't it be great if we had a video camera on the trek and were able to keep some kind of video diary? |

MAKING YOU SMILE!!! Believe me they'll be plenty of smiling whilst you're watching me stumble across the dunes and chase camels... I'm only going for the comedy aspect... becx |

Good idea on the video camera. I also think it would be nice if those of us trekking (treking ?) got together a few times over the year (if practical) for a few forced marches though the peak district or something equally central and arduous lol |

I am so glad someone else has mentioned a video diary, my local school has asked about one, but i was not keen to ask about it in case it sounded 'odd' !! Also, Paul i think thats a great idea of yours. Some of us haven't met yet, so it would be nice to put names to faces before we set off, and it would be nice to have a practice 'run' of sorts. I once, many moons ago, walked Dovedale, and that was a lovely place to walk. As to group support on the fundraising, i have a major newsflash on that one, that will hopefully help us all, but i need to speak to Pink first, so watch this space...... Yvette |

Went to Peak District, 10 years ago and started at Edale (start of the Pennine Way) and walked over to Snake Pass and back again and it just about killed me! |

I stayed just outside Hathersage - another nice place, when I was there last. |

Yvette - I'll add that to my list of requests if you'd like? Bec's requests/requirements for the Trek: * I don't HAVE to have an ensuite but it would be preferable. I would also prefer a bath to a shower but it's not a biggie. * Someone to carry my laptop and fax machine * Paul has suggested that my mobiles won't work in the desert????? How will all my male admirers contact me??? Do they have pigeons in the Sahara??? * Can we arrange the rota? I would like to know EXACTLY who will be carrying me and for how long. I don't mind piggy backs but am TOTALLY against firemen lifts (unless I can have firemen lifting me?) |

Oh my goodness - I have just read all the threads about the devasting news about Gaynor and don't know which to reply to. I have tears in my eyes so cannot see very well to type. You may think it strange, but I turned the puter off last night before the message was put on about Gaynor, and went outside to do a final check on the sheep. On my way back something made me look to the sky and there was the brightest star and thought of Gaynor and now I read the dreadful news. I never met the dear lady, but always read her threads and looked at the pictures so I feel I 'know' her. Sorry to ramble but I feel at a loss of what to say. Gaynor will be watching us and laughing with us when we are in the Sahara. She will also keep checking on Pink in China. Welcome to everyone else who is also joining the Trek. Dovedale sounds good to me - as I only live a few miles away... Luv to all Jxxxxx |

Julia - As expected everyone is devastated but there will be so much positivity out of this! Everyone has been pulling together to organise the relay and us 'Trekkers' have already started planning things! We'll make Gaynor proud!! love becx |
