'So you all think I am winding you up ! and no sane person would say they were rubbish ! Let me tell you, 'I am not winding you all up ! and I am 100% sane, and to whoever is researching their Pritchard family, you are related to a clever talented family.

Eddie, are you really my Dad in disguise? LOL Then again maybe not, as much as my old Dad loves Perry Como and Bing Crosby, even he would acknowledge the Beatles place in musical history! BTW Eddie, have you heard Perry Como sing Yesterday? Even he rated them! Christine

I think Eddie is winding everybody up! He knows they were great. George martin was indeed a genius, but the talent was there with the Beatles when they met George Martin . . . . . he expanded their talent.

For Em c, so you think I am a novice ? if you only knew ! I could stir things up a lot more if I wanted to, but I would only be coming down to your level. ( childish )

For Trish in Devon, your Mum had good taste Trish, My favourite ? hard to say because whatever he sang was brilliant. I thought he did a good job of 'Without A Song ' ( 1929 it came out ) Sadly he was getting on a bit when he recorded his last song 'Wind Beneath My Wings ' He died in May 2001 age 89 yrs. Eddie.

lol Bob :D personally i'm not a big fan of the beatles (prefer the earlier stuff), but the effect they've had is why we have such a wide range of music nowadays. and some people must have liked them for the four of them to be multi-millionaires

Deb Vancouver (18665) Report 24 Apr 2005 04:58

I must mention this - On the way to Vancouver today there was a kid (20's) with his windows down in his car and the stereo blasting. It wasn't my kind of music so tried to ignore it, how long can a red light be?. My husband turned to me and said ' As long as there is the words F*** and S*** in a song, it's a number one hit'! How true. Deb

Guinevere Report 23 Apr 2005 06:26

George Martin is an absolute musical genius. He says the Beatles were the best band ever. Who am I to argue with him? Their music spoke to and for a generation, they wrote their own stuff, they have the respect of every successful band and songwriter ever since. I saw them live twice and they were brilliant. Wouldn't cross the road to see Perry Como. Gwynne
