The most amazing thing to me, was having two babies. I've also got a masters' degree, been interviewed on the radio when I was 10 outside Buckingham Palace, stood on the pitch at Twickenham, given a witness statement after seeing an assault, won a Parents Quiz, won a bottle of champagne after a competition in The Independent on Sunday and won a years' supply of Virago books. I was also in Brixton on the night of the riot in 1980whatsit. nell

1973 travelled to New Zealand by ship through the Panama Canal. Whilst on board celebrated the marriage of Princess Anne to Mark Phillips. Stood for 6hrs in a queue to see Charles & Diana's wedding gifts. Must have been mad!! No regrets about queueing for hours to pay my respects to the late Queen Mother.

Bren from Oldham

Bren from Oldham Report 15 May 2005 22:45

Having to take a gun off a highly disturbed admission one night when I was senior nurse on duty Another time I had to persuade a new mother(mentally disturbed) to part with her baby which she did because she trusted me and then run hell for leather to the other side of the hospital to hand the baby to it's father. I felt really awful about this becasue over the years I had built up a good relationship with the mother. When she was really disturbed she used to say that I had a ring of confidence that went all round me and when she stepped into that ring she knew she would be safe. Other wise I have had an ordainary uneventful life except for having 4 children and 6 grandchildren Bren
