I realise that Ann but am only echoing what many people said on the thread last night. Perhaps my threads are just pants lol

Thank you David, I was wondering if that had happened. Well, I hope those on the Pot and Kettle thread last night are mightily proud of themselves. Have seen Mike being targetted from the start by some long-standing members on here - one in particular who won't leave him alone. What a bunch of two-faced sad acts - they pretend that butter wouldn't melt in their mouths. How many more times is this going to happen? Maz. XX

Even though Mike voiced his opinions (stood up for himself and told the truth) a little loudly for some, I think its sad that he has been suspended, He has been wound up into arguing on the boards by people who have done this kind of thing to others. Of course GR have the right to suspend if you cross that line, but its amazing that the people who wound you up over a period of time, suddenly are the innocent ones. Do we see a pattern emerging here....I do. Elaine x

I think it is very sad that Genes suspend somebody who has been provoked. By the way, Mike can read the boards and receive and send messages. he is very upset that he has been made a scapegoat (my words not his) and he hopes the book club will continue. Ann Glos

Here we go again! I'm really sorry that Mike has been suspended. All he has ever done is speak his mind. I know that he has been hounded in the past and it certainly appears as if the same people have been responsible again. I hope the people concerned can sleep tonight (probably will, they obviously have no conscience or scruples, even though they profess to!). Mandy :(

Well I for one kept off that thread apart from the opening comment which was innocent the other comments came later. I am glad I wasnt involved in any way. I am very sorry to see Mike being suspended because he made some very good comments on threads,ok he can get a bit involved sometimes but who doesnt!Could we not try to get him re-established.? I hope the club will continue too......have not added......but enjoy reading. I have always found Mike to be an intelligent and witty man. I have been on the receiving end of his 'rants' but chose to ignore them. I find it difficult to believe that us adults cannot sort things out between ourselves. That's all, Stel.

Mandy, they have no conscience and are probably gloating in secret. You notice that they hav enot come forward and admitted to stirring it for him. Why can't they just settle their differences like adults instead of running to teacher. Ann Glos

Ann That's exactly the way I look at it- we're all adults and should be accountable to ourselves. I don't see the need for complaining to GR every five minutes. There are people on this board who aren't to my taste so I don't post on their threads - common sense isn't it?

If only we could all see it that way Dave. if people don't complain nobody gets suspended. I sometimes wonder how people cope in real life. we should be able to have a good debate, even an argument, beg to differ and, as in real life, walk away from it, accept that we all have different views. Not go crying to our leader because somebody has been nasty to us. sticks and stones and all that! what happens on here is very vindictive. Ann Glos

I saw the thread this morning and it had got overheated but no worse than other threads I've seen which often get deleted before the rest of the world wakes. I don't see that an 8 week suspension is an appropriate 'punishment'. I think an 8 week suspension is far too long for anyone, not just Mike, who I find in turn amusing, helpful, thoughtful and sometimes annoying - in other words human. We are none of us perfect. I've always 'got on' with Mike. The other forum in which I participate regularly is on ebay. Ebay have a more realistic approach to guideline breaking. People are usually suspended for a week, longer for more serious breaches and if one person continues to be a problem he/she is thrown off altogether. Could we not persuade GR to shorten the suspension period? From a warning to an 8 week suspension seems very harsh. Gwynne

David, in my own opinion re. the thread in question. There was more than one person involved in an exchange of less than friendly words. If Mike is gone as a result of his unfriendly words, then he should not have gone alone. Patty

Didn't see this thread till after i'd added to the other so have copied to here too. Dont know what happened but hope mike's back soon, as has been said already, certain people have goaded him since day one then cry when he retaliates, these people cant take the dirt they dish out being sent back to them. Mike has always had the decency to apologise whenever he has been wrong, a few people however haven't the decency to accept that apology and move on. wend xx

This is not the first time that this has happened to a member. Mike was bullied, provoked and badgered at every turn and because he is a person that won't roll over and take it, he's been suspended. So, to stay a member on this site do we all have to be nodding donkeys or sheep and never have a different opinion? I hope that the people who did this to Mike are ashamed, you know who you are.

David I have been out this evening and am replying late but I have read through all the reply's here and it has all been said. I just wanted to add my name in Mike's defense. He answered that thread in a kindly manner, I saw no malice in his first post, it was only later that it got heated and then he was defending himself. This is totally unbelievable. Jacquie xxxx PS. David, I have already added to another thread regarding Mike & decided to add to yours also! So to speak, I am thoroughly disgusted as to how he has been continuously singled out here on the board. Very unfair, that he has been suspended! Too bad those who are responsible for this, couldn't be dealt with in the same manner! Hopefully in time, their turn will come! Thank you, Carol.
