Phoenix Report 9 Jun 2005 23:36

Mouse has had all the colour washed out of her by the events of the past few days. I didn't have the priviledge of reading Nell's thread, but I do have preserved the immortal scene where Dwaffy wanders into the GR bar. Meeting Dwaffy, Sir Guy, the Necromancer (a lovely, helpful man), Sherlock and all the pussy cats has been a priviledge and a joy. The colour really has gone out of the day.

Pat It is very kind of you to refer to the Beaver Blower as my masterpiece, but I cannot in all honesty, claim the honours for that - I merely primed the engine, so to speak, and stood back. It was the others on here - some gone, alas - who stoked it and kept it going. But it WAS funny and I too wept with laughter. Anyone who was offended by it, deserved to be, because I did post a warning in the title. Flat champagne!!! My fave!!!Suits the mood. So - tell me then, anyone found any ancestors today, now all the nuisance posters have gone and the Boards are clear for Genuine Research? M.

Hi Marjorie, Just crying with with laughter once again while reading your masterpiece the beaver blower I sneakily copied it so it would not be lost forever, I also have Lyla's classic, so that won't go. We'll be singing those were the days soon and then I will be weeping with sadness at the loss of some great threads. Love Pat x

When they pull one of Nell's threads, which will have as much wisdom as wit, then you know that the patients are in charge of the asylum.

Well here I am, in my second-best flying cloak and all my Research wrapped up in a spotted hanky, looking for somewhere to settle. Just flew through the Tips Board, gosh, its ever so quiet on there, not a lot of problem-solving going on. Is it the new rule then, no levity on the Tips Board? Just think, all the Newbies who will never get to read,( and weep), Lylas Amusing Causes of Death, The Rude Names, etc etc - they will never know what they have missed! M.

The Bag Report 9 Jun 2005 22:26

Jane, and anyone else who's interested! The other casualty of whatever day it was, was a chap who sometimes used the name The Necromancer I think when the penny drops as to who (although i dont think he ever used the general board) he was when he used his 'real name' (which he did mostly) many will be surprised and he to will be greatly missed. Not only for his wit but his wisdom too. jess
