God, I'm late and not in a very good mood at all ...who ever said it wasnt rocket science to get from one board to another certainly spoke the truth, its taking about five minutes to change a thread, let alone change boards!!! I seem to have missed a lot of excitement today on here, however I have been having excitement all of my very own today, spookily parallel to what has been going on here lately. At work - I am self-employed - certain people who have absolutely nothing to do with me, are attempting to bully me and bend me to their will. Its been going on for ages and I have mostly risen above it. Today, they stepped up the campaign a notch and locked me in a car park. I was not a very amused bunny, I can tell you. I am the laziest person on earth and mostly cant get up the energy to fight anyone, but when I finally get up on my back legs, I make a determined opponent. I have put the cat among the pigeons for them, but was feeling slightly fed-up about it all - then I come on here and find its all going on here too! Whatever is the world all about? Why do some people feel they have a right to INTERFERE with other people's harmless lives? Sorry, I know its supposed to be all sweetness and light on here tonight, but boo hoo, I'm homesick for the Tips Board! M.

Marjorie, it's been a wreck of a day. And I gather that British Origins isn't giving SoG members access to 1841. They have left a back door open, so I'm busy hauling stuff out before they close it in my face. Happy days. NOT.

Yes, I think it must be something to do with the conjunction of the planets of War and Misery, or something, my daughter just emailed me full of woe about several people we know, all of whom have had misfortune in the last few days. Is it me, or is it draughty in here??? M.

Can some one please tell me what happened on Tips board on Monday/Tuseday? I went out, missed it, and am dying of curiosity!

Me too, Heather!!! From what I can piece together, and guess, several members were suspended and two kicked off altogether. One of these, knowing that he was going to be kicked off, posted a reply and then repeatedly entered it - childish of course, but I bet it was satisfying!! Gr couldnt delete as fast as he could enter! All this stems of course, from the harmless Pub thread on Tips which appeared to make certain people demented with fury, repeatedly reporting it to GR, who, I suppose, had no option but to delete it. I have to say, the Tips Board is now much quieter and, I may be wrong, but those people who did the most look-ups, gave the most information, freely (although at a financial cost to themselves) are conspicuous by their absence - and I for one don't blame them. We have lost several useful and intelligent members of this Site, all because someone objected to ONE THREAD being on 'the wrong board'. Let us hope that the Objectors do not need any look-ups in a hurry. I am fed up of self appointed Policemen. Marjorie

Yes it's amazing the trouble some people cause for no reason Marjorie. Actually, if you don't mind I'll call you Aunty Marj like Chris did. Just so you don't suffer withdrawal symptoms. LOL We of course have a few ideas who was doing the behind the scenes whinging. The list is getting shorter. Seems some people can't help themselves, the bar threads caused no harm, it was only petty vindictiveness that drew some to complain. If they were serious about the thread being on the wrong board, then they would have made the effort to purge the tips board of all non essential threads. Instead, they deliberately persecuted ours. What other conclusions are we to come to? That Heather, is the basic reason behind the childish, but highly satisfying behaviour the other night on tips. Rebel this is how I feel about the whole sorry state of things on tips: Really upset what has happened over the past while to the people on tips board, I know I am normally on the general board these days but I have a soft spot for tips board and many of those who still offer help and tips and those who helped me. I still read tips before checking general, always still enjoy certain contributions people who where there when I was, not to say that the newbies are not interesting too. Just cannot understand why this place is getting so bad, does anyone have any idea who has it in for the people trying to have a fun and a lively thread in the evening? doesn't make sense that people pick on others for no reason. One thread on tips for people to get together and have a laugh, who are they hurting? is there really anything wrong with people doing that? I actually would have been pleased to see one when I was more on tips than I am now, I would have had a laugh with others that I didn't know, but would get to know through a fun thread. When you think of all the work people do for others and the help and tips they give well I don't think GR could be thinking right to not allow the same people to join together in fun. Love to all the good people on tips that do so much for everyone else. Please don't give up, you would be very much missed by all. Love Pat x

Hi Sue Knew you would take the joke as it is intended,as in fun!!! Yes sometimes in life we need a bit of fun, and why not? Sue yes agree with you life is too short and none of us know when it may just may be taken from us. Rebel how are you? I hope you are ok? I just had to express how I was feeling which is very low especially after seeing marjorie last night. Very upset with the whole thing about Sherlock, and all the rest of the sorry tale on tips board. I had so much fun on tips with Lyla she is a hussy that one lol. Well as for Kim and everyone on the fun thread who made me so welcome as everyone always did on tips, its really a great board because of the people that are there as thats what makes any board the good or bad, the PEOPLE that frequent it. Why people take from tips and do not leave the good people who give alone is beyond me. Here I must mention Irene and Little Nell, Judy, Tom, Geoff, Jess, Roslyn, Jane, Cheryl, Jeanette the haddock, last but never least Crista and so many others, who seem to have gone over time, I miss them too. Thank you to one and all on tips, I may just come back to what feels like home and is the best board on genes, because of the people who frequent it. Love Pat x

I'm fine Pat, thank you. But like a lot of the gang from tips, wondering why we even bother. I have to say, there have been a few notable absenses over the last two days, not including the two obvious ones. Essentially, the thread never did any harm, apart from annoying the Killjoys. It gave somewhere for the regular helpers to sit back and relax a little in between look ups. Pity the same can't be said for some of the recent happenings on the general board. The repocussions of some of the crap that has gone on here has been well documented. Are the ones who causedtrouble here the same folk who visit Tips and voice their silent objections to management? Guess we'll never know, because they're too gutless to be open about it. But thank you for your concern. There are still some great folk left on the site. Cheers Pat, Rebs

But I am so sad about Tips, i am used to the childish c**p that happens on general but when it hits the people who actually do stuff then GR are going to have to look at themselves, because GR are forgetting who makes this site, yes they provide the platform but without the people who do the work genes would be nothing but another glorified chat board. To take every little thing that is emailed to them by people who probably do nothing for no one is not on, to not even acknowledge all the time and energy and hard work that is spent on here as well as just being around to try and help with the puzzles all these things make the tips board what it is. Leave the workers alone why not concentrate on the baddies instead. Pat x

Hi Rebs, It is now Thursday and I've done nothing on the boards since the debacle. Take care of yourself and who knows maybe I'll get around to speaking to people again in the not too distant future. Best Wishes Friar
