Hi Pink I've replied on Chunks' thread too. This is beyond belief - when you think of the genuinely offensive threads that are posted on here, and the ones that contravene GR's terms and conditions! How can anyone find thanks or fundraising offensive? Take care - and don't let it get you down. Mandy :) xx

Anyone who could complain about a thread for such a worthwhile cause is in my opinion: 'Lower Than A Snakes Belly' Keep up the good work girls, and ignore the low lifes. xxxxx

I have writtent to GR. All I can ask is does a thread titled 'What's for tea tonight' (as an example!!) have more importance and relevance on the general board. Just keep posting Pink and we will keep replying. Jacky xx

What offence has a General Topic given? I understand the Tips Board being kept for help and advice, but surely, unless it becomes personal, obscene or offensive, there should be no subject we are not free to discuss here. After all it is so easy to just bypass any thread which is not of interest. Good on yer Diana, Keep up the good work. Jim

I agree with Gwynne's comments. After the last few weeks on these boards I believe that people will complain about absolutely anything to cause upset. Why or why do GR have to take any notice. I cannot believe that just one complaint can cause Pink's thank you threads to be deleted. Don't GR realise that 'majority rules'. Jean x

Bec Report 8 Jun 2005 17:15

Pink - May I suggest you try changing your name...? Perhaps if you post a thank you thread under the name 'Bec' you may get away with it? Love becx (Still waiting to be complained about - tut!)

Pat Report 8 Jun 2005 17:14

Very well said Pink, its clear you have the support of the members here on the general board. I am writing to GR to request that your threads be left alone, so many people want to be part of your efforts, to read what you put on this board. GR Should be proud to have members like you and others who have done so much rather than listen to the creeps that complain. Well its my turn to complain about these complainers. Love Pat x

I too are GOBSMACKED !!!!!1 How can some people be so petty as to complain about your threads. It is a pity they did,nt do it on here and see how many people would support them !!!!! not many i should think. Obviously they have not lost a loved one from Cancer or else they would not have complained. They are just selfish and sad people that is all i can say. So too who ever it was !!! GET A LIFE !!!!! before it is too late . Val

How ridiculous - how on earth can these threads upset someone? They're even on the right board! I think it's awful that you are being penalised for doing something good - what is the world coming too? K x

These sad pathetic idiots need to get a life. Obviously live for these boards and have no friends. I am going to complain to GR with your permission Pink, if the threads wernt offensive, why should they be removed? Its ridiculous.

PinkDiana Report 8 Jun 2005 17:02

Do you know if it was just about the fundraising threads I could sort of understand it but to be asked by GR to remove the Thanks Wakefield thread and the Westgate Common - U R FANTASTIC thread as well as the Balloon Release one it has made my blood boil!! I come on this site and watch rudeness and bitchiness happen and they get away with it yet politeness is frown apon????? I think I may have upset some people and they are making it personal now.... I think its more about me than the fundraising, which is fine but if you don't tell me I can't do anything about it to rectify the situation can I? Maybe I am the bullies new target and the only way they can get to me is thru the pink fund threads!!?? Well whoever it is.... Please know that even if I do only get to use 1 thread for my fundraising ideas in future... I can assure you I WILL NOT STOP!! PLUS the more you complain about the fundraising the more awareness you are bringing it so THANK YOU!!

I'm really sorry that someone has complained Pink and like everyone else I can't understand why they have. This week one of my friends was diagnosed with cancer. So I would like to say thank you to you for raising money for this very worthy cause and thank you to everyone who has helped you and I stick my tongue out in disdain at the low life who has reported you!! Pink 10 years ago as newly weds we discovered that my husband had testicular cancer and secondary cancers in both lungs. The doctor at the time told us that 10 years previously there would have been no hope of a cure, but thanks to research he now had a 95% chance of survival. 10 years later he is fit and well and the proud father of two children. I give what I can, when I can to cancer research and are eternally grateful to those who fundraise for cancer research. Those who have complained about your efforts, should remember that one in three people is affected by cancer. My grandfather died of cancer when I was nine years old. It changed him beyond recognition. I hope you know how proud we all are of you. Just ignore the spiteful minority.

Pinky, you know me, abit slow on the uptake!! So lets get this straight............YOU are not allowed to invite a friend to stay at your own home for the night????? Did I get that right?? Well, if I have got that right, all I can say is, 'whose business is it anyway?' You are 'yourself ' love. Ignore them.............whomsoever they THEY may be!!

Yvette Report 8 Jun 2005 16:51

Hi Pink Have just come home logged on and seen this, and i am stunned! It seems that whoever it was complained about you thanking people was obviously not as well brought up as you were, so firstly we must all feel very sorry for them. Secondly, even if your thanks and all the other threads that are on here in some form or another about cancer research are bending the rules, whether its slightly or by a fair bit, SO WHAT!!!! .........its not like they are hurting anyone, mocking anyones religous views or offending any normal reasonable person, so why run to 'mummy' and tell tales!! I thought the purpose of this site was for like minded people to meet and chat whilst researching our tree, for building up a picture of our history and doing a bit of bonding at the same time, surely uniting in a common cause that will help save lives, possibly even for our own much loved family and friends is in fact the very best of reasons to visit these boards and add threads. After all we get some very heavy stuff on here at times as well as utter drivel, its what makes the world go round, so why oh why can't these sad little people get it into their heads that they might not like it....BUT most of us do!!! So go away, grow up and come out to play with the rest of us when you can play without being a killjoy tittle tattle!!!! Yvette (Yes i am having a sound off, but having been away for a while with real problems this sort of spite makes me mad, and i don't care at the moment who i offend...so there!!....i am now off to sit in a dark room and calm down, lol)
