To Paul's points, the number of members is probably nearer 1,000,000, once you have weeded out lapsed and non-members. The number of active members is probably less than 50,000. And lots of people, like me, just gave up on the site last night. When completing the well-advertised survey, first temptation was to tell them to get the site up to speed, but that goes without saying. Even if Genes Support doesn't know much about family history, they ought to know how to run a website competently. A grumpy old woman who definitely wants to join the Union.

Oleander I will join you Angry Women. I have had dealings with unions both Blue White and Red against oppressive stances. I've just had a brainstorm!!!! I think I know what is happening here!!!! Do you want me to tell you...... Well I think Genes are trying to get us off these boards and onto the Connections Site!!! When you think about it....fairly new site, lots of Boards, well that's what I think anyway! Keep this site strictly geoneological!!! No Chat!!!! The reply I got from GR about the Open Letter I sent them told me about the Connections Site and that maybe I would like to try it!!! I'll join your Union, I am fed up of trying to access the boards, change boards and post messages. I have suggested a way of speeding things up on other threads though. When the 'progress bar' at the bottom of the window stops moving, try clicking on the STOP button then click on the 'link' (to board or thread) again. It seems to go quicker for some reason. Try it and see if it works for you. So how mayny members has the Union got now? Lynne
