hi karen, i must be lucky, cos all the peeps i have met from here, who i knew [before i met them] that i would get along with- i have ! and no probs so far. i always meet people the first time at a meet, or with a group. just to be on the safe side. sue, xxx

I have to be honest and say my hubby is aghast that I would want to meet anyone from the net! He is always saying that we warn the kids not to, so why would I do it! He has a point I think! LOL!

I wonder if certain internet 'phonies' have noticed that they are being ignored/given short responses more and more. Does this mean that more people are starting to realise that they aren't who they try to appear to be. I must say that I admire them............. like my mum said you have to have a good memory to be a good liar. Well thats what she used to say when she found me out!!!!!!!!!!! Just think how good a memory you need to have to be able to keep up two or three personalities!!!!!!!!!! Mandy At a guess I would think it highly unlikely that you are going to meet the deceptors at a meet, and certainly not both of the split personalities at the same one!!!!!!!!!! Unless they did a quick change in the loo!!!!!!!!!!!

I get what you mean Mandy....... I am one of the folk you wouldnt see at a meet........ because my boyfriend/ex hubby isnt very happy with the thought of it.. so my NOW life is more important than meeting virtual folk at the moment. I dont hide tho.... what you see(?) on here is what you get in real life! Karen

Hi Sue, as you know loads about me, I think I am safe in saying that I thought I would never meet anyone from the Internet. Karen, my very first meet was via friends made on GR. Sue Smith was one of the first, we were all in a group, all very much arranged knowing many others would be at the same meeting place. I had the shock of my life when all GR members welcomed me. I do believe that most members on here, only EVER meet for the first time, when they know at least two or three others will be there at the same time. Anyone stupid enough to meet on a one to one basis, due to the internet, even on GR is asking for trouble. GR meet up's are all safe if in numbers, and lets face it, if we thought that there was a member that we would conflict with, I am sure we would stay away if we thought it might spoil the meet up. Jenny..... I swore to the very end that i wouldbe at the geordie meet... after all i suggested the venue!!! I WAS gonna be there, and had asked permission(?) but at the last moment he TOLD me not to go!! so to keep the peace i stayed at home..... I wasnt hiding or doing anything untoward i was just living in my real world!! karen
