The site is 24/7, so I appreciate there may be problems in access, probably during normal working hours. I don't actually mind the problems being FR related, as I bet that they funded the early days of GC. But, I don't appreciate the lack of warning. Nor am I particularly impressed by standard reassurances. If the fees aren't enough to cover the running costs, then increase them. But members only, please, allowed to post. |

Hi All, At 11:05 this morning i tried to reply to a thread only to be thrown off with the happy genes error & threaded board messages. Try as I might I couldn't get into any of the boards. I sent genes an email asking what was going on & why were they happy when their members definitely were not. As I still couldn't get back I did some gardening & went to the dump. Maybe I should now send a message of thanks cos the garden does look tidier now!!! Anyway I just got back & lo & behold I have a reply from Julie, a standard reply, but it's the first time they have ever deigned to reply to me. We have progress. Vivienne |

This is the reply I got from GR this morning..... Thanks for your email. I am sorry to hear that the site has still been slow. I have spoken to our technical team this morning and they are currently looking into this as a matter of urgency. If you can give us any more information then this would be really helpful. For example, exactly where the error message occurs. Is it on every page or just certain pages? Regards Julie |

Have just sent this to GR: The site has been nearly impossible to use on occasions during the last few weeks. Many people have said the same. It is far too slow, takes too long to add a reply, take too long to get into messages, 'page cannot be displayed', website cannot be found, and 'Error in threaded book - please contact support HappyGenesReunited error '800a9c68' Application-defined or object-defined error /genesreunited.asp, line 13 ' occur far too many times. For a fee paying site, the inefficiency of the site is becoming increasingly worrying. I realise that the site is used by thousands of people, but so are other sites such as free BMD - which is free. I appeal to you, please, to make the site 'normal' again. Thank you. Joy |

I want to join the union. My membership runs out in a couple of weeks and it is doubtful that I will renew. When I first joined this site the subs were £5. I really do not think that the increase to £7.50 (£10 for newbies) is justified. This site has not improved, unless you call the name change an improvement. I have no interest in the other sites. If we have to suffer as a consequence, we should be offered free membership to those sites at the very least. Although I would personally have a site that is run properly. Like someone has already said, we should be given a couple of extra weeks free. GC should take the members views into account, instead of just raking it in. Jill off her soapbox xx Meercat I have emailed you. |

Sisters (& any Brothers), The site seems just as slow today as last week - we will probably have a new excuse (increased traffic due to the bombings) being trotted out. The Friar |
