Lemon,I am just catching up with the threads and think this is one I can reply to. Last year,Tony asked me what I would like from him,for mothers day.Well...I thought I would brass neck it and asked him if he wouldn't mind buying me an erotic book.He was mighty surprised..but..being a man of the world and all for womens liberation and so on,he agreed. Well,into town we went.Him to the book shop,(I know he went in because I dropped him of at the door!),and me away to pick something up for ma-in-law.We met up again after a while and he had made a purchase.He wouldn't let me see what it was though.So,away home we went with me all a tremble.... Mothers day.My book all wrapped up nicely and Tony a bit anxious.'You really sure thats the kind of book you wanted?' 'yes..yes.. give me it now'. I opens the paper in one quick rip.....ohh,the excitement and a smile from ear to ear......hit the bloody floor.'what the????what's this,'what...wha..wha..you bas turd (don't want to say a bad word) I asked for an erotic book not this!!' I was nearly in tears.I didn't speak to him for days,I was so cheesed off. 'A-Z OF MODERN HERBS' signed 'TO MOTHER'. This man of the world who wanted to liberate me was to embarassed to go to the counter with a saucy book and just grabbed what was to hand. Talk about making you feel old and decrepid.I have never asked him to buy me anything again.But...I can laugh at it now. Hop-a-long. |

Lemon we live at opposite ends of St Helens 2 bus rides or approx 15 mins by car. Used to live round corner from each other. |

Lemon - dau. is only 20 years younger than me so before too long she too will find out! When I was coming up to my sixtieth my son was busy telling everyone I was quite happy as my dau would hit her fortieth just months before my big b'day!!! Ann |
