Hi Lemony I had just left home at 18 and moved miles away. I used to go a phone box to ring the parents and one day a teenage boy was in there. I heard him say 'I'll get off now, there's a lady waiting'. Lady???? Moi?

Just remembered a couple of other things - when watching some old footage of Queen Victoria's funeral on the TV one of my children asked if I was in the crowd and another time, when talking about dinosaurs I was asked if I'd ever seen a live one!

My husband is 6 years younger than me, and his parents made many detrimental comments about our age difference before we were married, despite there being a 12-year age gap between them! But the worst thing was, when I first introduced him to my Mother. As usual, she started talking about her memories (which I'd already heard over and over and over again). She asked David if he remembered something that happened before World War II. He said it was before his time, so she turned to me and said, 'His memory doesn't go back as far as ours, does it?' I was born in late 1948, and my mother is 36 years older than me! How on earth she expected me to remember something that happened in the 1930s is beyond me!!! CB >|<

:-) Yeah, I guess it was politely meant, nice in a young lad, just shocked me at the time! Going the other way, on my 35th a guy in the pub said 'ooh, you only look about 16!', and the next week I told his friend and the friend said 'nah, he meant about 16 stone!' :-p xx Jen

Yeah. My 3 yr old daughter said incredulously 'YOU were a little girl once mummy?' when I told her where I used to go on holiday when I was little. Like she could hardly believe I could remember that far back! ;) Claire xx
