22nd is not ideal as it is the first weekend of the schools' holidays, but I can still probably make either date. Will put my thinking cap on as to alternative venues; has anyone asked Len, who I think was the person who suggested the Lambert Arms? Helen |

Donna - i really would like to come to this meet - my first - you decide and 'go for it' you wont please all the people all the time. Which is the more important factor? date or place? Not convinced about the bus links from aylesbury - quite happy to do a pick up there if it helps.(to Lewknor, - be blind leading the blind, but heyho!) Jess x |

whilst I agree that the date is important, I would have thought it was equally as important to get as many of Gaynors friends there as possible ? That said, most of us committed to the 15th, so we should stick to that if at all possible. |

This is what i have received today from the Lambert Arms, panic over i think Hi Donna, I would like to apoligise for this inconvenience to you, as I am now back from holidays I have pulled out the correspondance via email and gone through it, I have copied it below in order and can see where there may have been some misunderstanding. In order to compensate you for the delay and double booking we have arranged for you an area within the hotel to use on the 15th and will provide a complimentary finger buffet for 30 people, I am yet to finalise with the Yohan (chef) the details of the food and as soon as that is done will send a copy for your approval. Of course as our other booking is to begin after yours there is the possibility of pre-ordering some light meals. If this is of interest please let me know and I will discuss it with chef and send out a menu for you. Once again sorry, and hope you will find our offer satisfactory. Sincerely Murray |

Sorry Donna I have just spoken with Roger and I have misunderstood his intentions with regards to your booking. Please disregard the email below. It was my impression that it would be on the same date but have been corrected by roger that it is to be on the 22nd as he has spoken with Rob. Dont I feel red in the face. If you could get back to me about this or I will try to call you again it would be much appreciated.Regards Murray THIS IS AN EMAIL SENT A FEW MINS AGO!!! I cany belive this is happening!! |

Ok, due to lack of time and Murrys b**ls up, 16th Oct it is......they will also lay on a finger buffet by way of an apology and as Susie says, it is exactly a year to the day which would have pleased Gaynor. The Leathern Bottle doesnt stay open, so not really an option. |

16th would be fine by me, in fact Sundays are better than Saturdays for me I could also probably pickup (up to 2 people) from nearly if anyone had problems with buses, it being Sunday and all that |

Im so sorry Lou, im trying to fit in with everyone, not doing very well. The 16th is the time the Lambert can do it and stay open all day or the 22nd, which no one can do so far. Im almost giving up here and most unhappy that the original date was changed. Im so sorry. |
