I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!!!! It looks like little Josh is well on the mend!!!!! He's now been moved out of the PICU and is now on the HDU unit which I am told is good. Now for the best bit......... His eyes are open and he's moving around and even has the cheek to lie there yawning lol. He's not spoken yet and has not made contact so to speak, but the fact that he's got his eyes open and that he's moving is fantastic progress considering his parents were told last weekend that none of this may ever happen. I'm sure given time he'll be up and around and back to the cheeky little swine we all know and love! Thanks you thank you thank you for all of your kind messages and support that you've passed on over the last 3 weeks (god it feels so much longer than that lol)... you've all been fantastic I'll update again as and when I hear more good news Thanks again luv c x |

Hi Clare, Been 'away' for a few days and just opened to find out how 'little Josh' was going on. Pleased to see he's still hanging on. As Linen Lady says, keep talking to him about all and sundry and, if he likes music, why not ask the medical team if you can put ear phones on him and play some of his favourite music for him. It will all help to 'show' him you are all there waiting for him to give a sign. Lots of positive thoughts still going his way. Love, Margaret. |

Thank you for the update, I do hope he makes a full recovery, but while ever he's 'sleeping' his body is fixing it's self, so make that clear to the rest of the family. Never give up hope you all need to fight together!! Lots of love and hugs to you allxxxx |

Nudge for Claire We're still in the same boat at the moment, waiting and hoping and praying that he will wake up. He's been exactly the same for a week now and his poor parents are terrified that he's never going to open his eyes As soon as I hear anything different, I will let you all know Luv c x |

Hi Clare I agree with Linen Lady. My brother in law had a similar type of accident whereby he had a blood clot removed from his brain and remained in a coma for 2 weeks. He recovered after hours spent at his bedside talking to him and demanding responses. He also had a tracheostomy and suffered fits, and although he went through a long rehabilition process whereby he had to relearn how to read and write again, he retained his loving nature and sense of humour throughout which helped to sustain his family during the recovery process. With love to Josh and his family that he his now on his way to recovery. |

Hi Claire, Sorry to hear there is no real change. Do you know how things go at visiting time? This may sound a daft question but 40+ years ago my brother was in a similar state after a RTA. It was a multiple & in the next bed was another guy who was also in the same accident. His family would say hello & then just sit silently holding his hand. I'm afraid he didn't make a good recovery. My family on the other hand nagged my brother so much he had to recover in self defence. We talked to him about anything & everything, the fact that we got no response made no difference & six weeks later he came out of his coma. If they are not doing it all ready, could you suggest that the family read to him & just generally chat to him & tell him what is happening at home & school. Sorry if you already know this but I felt I had to tell you just incase you didn't. Vivienne Still sending healing thoughts |

Hi everyone, sorry i've not given any updates, but there hasn't really been any change. He had is Trachy last week and he's now completley off the sedation, but he started to fit on friday and the doctors weren't sure why As far as I am aware his fits have stopped now and it's now just a waiting game for him to wake up His Mum and Dad have been pulled to one side and have been told that he may never progress any further than this, but i'm convinced that he will and that they just need to give him more time Thanks for continuing to think of us all I will let you know the moment anything changes and when he does wake up, you'll all hear me shouting it from the roof tops Thanks again Claire x |
