''All you need is love.'' .............wouldn't it be strange if we all liked / disliked the same songs/singers? :-) Joy PS Elvis Presley is my no 1 hero Freddie Mercury is my no 2 hero I do tribute threads for anyone who would like them, ie Marc Bolan especially for Ruby Tuesday. |

Daisy - Yes yes yes lol- Imagine is soooooooooo over rated and dull as ditchwater but I'm not very keen on the Beatles singly or together. Jacqui & the rest of the anti Elvis crowd. Stop being silly. He was beautiful and had a perfect voice. I can't accept Come on Eileen either. Lol Patty I love Green Day but that song is being played too much here as well and is starting to irritate me now:) Linda love:) I was going to say something witty about you and Mull of Kintyre but I can't stop laughing;) SAD! |

Hi David, Although the performance could never be over-rated, Whitney Houston's 'I will always love you' had to be one of the most overplayed singles ever. Meanwhile in my corner of the world, someone has to wake Green Day up and tell them that September has ended - enough already! Patty x |

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2. I seem to remember seeing it top some best song ever poll, and couldn't believe it. It's just well.... dull for want of a better word, IMHO. |

My sister is a huge fan - 8 years older than me, so she had a record player (David, that's how we played music before CD's) before me and used to play all his stuff. yaaaaawn!! I love Come On Eileen - sooooo my era! Imagine is in my top 10 faves - will be having stern words with you Daisy lol!! I hate that Celine Dion one from Titanic, Cotton Eye Joe (aaarrrggghhh), Wings, Make me whole again by Atomic Kitten - done to death! Maz. XX |

There are loads of songs I hate but couldnt put them all on here. Roll on 1st January 2006. Regards Yvonne Yvonne |

I'm with Guinevere, leave Bohemian Rhapsody alone! After all... He's just a poor boy from a poor family. Ok so he might of killed a man by Shooting him in the head and then made his mum cry but he didn't mean it (well making his mum cry at least). He then Went on the run. But he doesn't want his mum to worry if he's not back again by the next day. I think they catch up with him though as he want's them to let him Go but they will not let him go. I don't think his love will visit him in clink as they seem to want to Love him and leave him to die there but he's just got to get out, just got to get right out.. Quite straight forward really....Hmmm. I vote for 'Eileen', that used to be played so much and it still gets played occasionally. Sue |

Lovely day by Bill Withers drives me nuts, I have to switch off when he starts that repeating bit. They play it loads on Radio 2. But I love Elvis's voice in his later stuff, The Wonder of You is wonderful. |

Well Joy I'll regret it as well then as I dislike Elvis Presley and nearly everything he did. Much of his stuff was cover versions better done by the orginal Artists. Gloria I liked Manfred Mann's 5,4,3,2,1 the harmonica playing and the vibrancy of the track :-))) 10cc I'm not in love is a song that i never liked amongst a great many others. Think most Pop songs are over-rated, always thought it was funny when these naff songs sold enough to stay at number one for ages no one seems to admit they bought them LOL. Can't all like the same things Pat x |

That one that lad did - I think it might have been a group actually 'The Streets' - Dry your eyes mate. I can't stand it - the lyrics are ok ish, but his voice just drones! Also anything by Slip Knot - utter garbage. Kaye x |

You youngsters have no idea of the contribution Elvis made to modern music. I am not an Elvis lover, can take him or leave him, but believe me until he hit the scene there was Bing, Perry and, of course, the real king, Old Blue Eyes. Without Elvis, and his PR machine, paving the way there would be no Beatles, etc. etc. Hard to believe but in his day he was scandalous and he opened the way for pop music as it is today. Jean x. |
