Hi Heather, I know just how you are feeling. I was lucky I only live a few streets away from my mum, I used to go every day to visit her, the only day I missed was a Sunday, but she insisted that I rang her to make sure she was ok. I rang one morning to see if she was up as she had an appointment with the eye specialist there was no reply I rang again no reply the third time I rang the phone was pushed off the lever and all I could here was heavy breathing I was frantic, I rushed round only to find mum in her bedroom sat up in a daze on her bed, I knew straight away what had happened, I rang for an ambulance she was taken to hospital, yes it was a stroke..... Sue....sending you positive thoughts...........x |

Heather Sorry to hear your news. Sending Love and Hugs to you all... I understand your worry not living close to your dad I am in the same situation living over 200 miles away....although my dad is still in his 60's he lives alone on the third floor of flats and none of neighbours speak to each other.... I phone every week and worry if I dont get him on the phone... Thinking of You and All your family in this worrying time...keep strong and remember your friends on GR are all sending our love and thoughts to you. Lesley :~) xx |

My thoughts are with you Heather I hope that your dad recovers & comes to live with you. I know how hard it is as my dear father-in Law is 86 & lives 5 hrs away from us it is so hard when he gets sick but at least we are lucky that 2 of his daughters live close to him. My prayers for you and your family Heather, and I feel for you not be able to get to be with him without hassles. Some of us are lucky - like you - to know what it is to have a dad in his 90's, others not so lucky. Hope all is well for your family Laurie |
