Heather, I am sorry yor father has passed away, but he is lucky to have had such a wonderful family, and I bet he was so proud of you all, as you were of him, I am glad you got to the hospital before it was too late, he has taken your love with him, and he will be able to rest in peace, when my nan had a massive stroke, I traveled nearly 200 miles to be with her, I was also lucky, I had the last 45 mins of her life with her, it gave me time to tell her again that she was the best ever nan as far as I was concerned, I talked about the funny things telling her she would always live in my heart, she did not seem to be able to hear, but like your dad she made slight movment in her fingers, so yes she knew I was there, and was able to go in peace knowing that she was loved by all of us. god bless parents annd grand parents, may he keep them safe until we meet up again. Heather - I am sitting here with tears running down my face. I feel very deeply for you, but feel sure that your Dad felt very proud and loved by the overwhelming tenderness given to him by all your family. May he now rest in peace and all of you, in time, be able to think of him and smile.

Heather, I understand exacty how you feel from my own experience. It's a very sad time for you and your family, and you will all need time to grieve, so take that time and don't allow yourselves to be rushed back into 'normality' until you're ready for it. People will understand. Best wishes, CB >|<
