Then Jericho - Darkest Hour So lonely on your own So hard to be alone And though you were once before Someone came and opened up the door And then out you flew Out you flew and all you saw Was someone standing with your dreams Run, run away In your darkest hour I will be the only one to send relief The only chance for you And suddenly you changed You opened up and found Something deep inside that tells you You were a fool to lend yourself To such assuming games Take yourself and make your name And leave you there without your dreams Run, run away In your darkest hour I will be the only one to send relief The only chance you'll see Run away In your darkest hour I will be the only who knows just how to hold you and to say Run And now it's come to pass And now it's here at last I know you sometimes think of me I know a foolish child would scream It's hard to think and hold you tight It's hard to be unbending when there's everything you've stripped from me So run, run away All those shattered dreams

Andy I completely agree with you re 'bet you look good on the dancefloor (Sharon is hoping I'll learn a second line of the song soon lol) but I still prefer the B side (below). This is one of my favourite tracks from the warchild album... Elbow 'Snowball' Tied this letter to the red balloon Flew this letter off across the ruse Along with all the plans I made Ooh... Over crippled cranes and twisted steel Deadlines overgrown and missing wheels I told you so communicate Ooh... Told you so Told you so The biggest of mistakes can be forgiven But a snowball of little white lies will crush your house From the razor wire in old Iraq Oil is what you make the nation's flag Pray you never sleep again Ooh... Oh and laughable the crying shame Oh the mark I made against your name I hope this finds you less than sane Ooh... Told you so Told you so For you to think that history's rewritten You'd have to think the dead will be forgotten Your snowball of little white lies has crushed our house When the pills you take No longer help you You're fading in your chair And would've met him We see the lightning You hear the birdsong You hear the voices you've been holding off for so long Words around you And then a hurricane A hundred thousand souls And everyone in pain We'll come and visit you We'll come and visit you (Never sleep again) When the pills you take No longer help you Fading in your garden chair With a wooden tool You see the lightning You'll hear the birdsong You hear the voices you've been holding off for so long Words around you And then a hurricane A hundred thousand punctured souls And everyone in pain We'll come and visit you We'll come and visit you (Never sleep again)

Paul, Absolutely love 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' by Arctic Monkeys. Definitely my good day song at the moment. Been a good year for emerging young bands. Now have the 'Help - A Day In The Life' album as well, really like Wasteland by Maximo Park, and the Kaiser Chiefs cover of 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' is quite entertaining. Hanging On The Telephone by Blondie I'm in the phone booth, it's the one across the hall If you don't answer, I'll just ring it off the wall I know he's there, but I just had to call Don't leave me hanging on the telephone Don't leave me hanging on the telephone I heard your mother now she's going out the door Did she go to work or just go to the store All those things she said, I told you to ignore Oh why can't we talk again Oh why can't we talk again Oh why can't we talk again Don't leave me hanging on the telephone Don't leave me hanging on the telephone It's good to hear your voice, you know it's been so long If I don't get your call then everything goes wrong I want to tell you something you've known all along Don't leave me hanging on the telephone I had to interrupt and stop this conversation Your voice across the line gives me a strange sensation I'd like to talk when I can show you my affection Oh I can't control myself Oh I can't control myself Oh I can't control myself Don't leave me hanging on the telephone Hang up and run to me Whoah, hang up and run to me Whoah, hang up and run to me Whoah, hang up and run to me Whoah oh oh oh run to me

Natalia... OUCH. Love this song, heard it a couple of times on the radio, as well as another track... think this band are going to hit the big time soon... Arctic Monkeys 'Bigger Boys And Stolen Sweethearts' There's always somebody taller With more of a wit And he's equipped to enthrall her And her friends think he's fit And you just can't measure up no You don't have a prayer Wishing you had made the most of her When she was there They've got engaged No intention of a wedding He's pinched your bird And he'd probably kick your head in Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts You're better off without her anyway You said you wasn't sad to see her go Oh no He might be one of those boys That's all pretty and vain Likes to go in the sunbed And stays out of the rain So that he don't get his hair wet You wouldn't want that At least he hasn't got a Nova Or a Burberry hat They've got engaged No intention of a wedding He's pinched your bird And he'd probably kick your head in Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts You're better off without her anyway You said you wasn't sad to see her go Of course you were Have you heard what she's been doing? Never did it for me He picks her up at the school gates At twenty past three She's been with all the boys But never went very far She wagged English and Science Just to go in his car They've got engaged No intention of a wedding He's pinched my bird And he'd probably kick my head in, oh Now the girls have grown But I'm sure they still carry on in similar ways Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts So I'm better off without her anyway I said I wasn't sad to see her go But I'm only pretending, you know Yeah, I'm only pretending, you know Yeah, I'm only pretending, you know Oh I'm only pretending, you know

Short and sweet Antony and the Johnsons Feat. Rufus Wainwright 'What can I do ?' What can I do When the bird's got to die What can I do When she's too weak to fly What can I do When she's calling my name She's crying Mama, Help me to live What can I do Antony and the Johnsons Feat. Lou reed 'Fistful of Love' I was lying in my bed last night staring At a ceiling full of stars When it suddenly hit me I just have to let you know how I feel We live together in a photograph of time I look into your eyes And the seas open up to me I tell you I love you And I always will And I know that you can't tell me So I'm left to pick up The hints, the little symbols of your devotion I feel your fists And I know it's out of love And I feel the whip And I know it's out of love I feel your burning eyes burning holes Straight through my heart It's out of love I accept and I collect upon my body The memories of your devotion

I Want To Be The Boy That Warms Your Mother's Heart by The White Stripes I want to be the boy to warm your mother's heart I'm so scared to take you away I tried to win her over right from the start But something always got in the way We've been sitting in your backyard for hours But she wont even come out and say hi While my mother baked a little cake for you And even dreaded when you said goodbye What kind of cartwheels do I have to pull? What kind of joke should I lay on her now? I'm inclined to go finish high school Just to make her notice that I'm around Well nothing I come up with seems to work It feels like everything I say is a lie And never have I felt like such a jerk I'm afraid to even open my eyes Because I really dont want her to judge me I want her to really know who I am And then, and only then will she love me Well at least that was the plan If ever a boy needed a holiday If ever a girl needed someone to hold I just hope I dont act the same way By the time that I get that old I never said I was the heir to a fortune I never claimed to have any looks But these kind of things must be important Because somebody ripped out my page In your telephone book I want to warm her heart

HOPE THERE'S SOMEONE - Anthony and the Johnsons Hope there's someone Who'll take care of me When I die, will I go Hope there's someone Who'll set my heart free Nice to hold when I'm tired There's a ghost on the horizon When I go to bed How can I fall asleep at night How will I rest my head Oh I'm scared of the middle place Between light and nowhere I don't want to be the one Left in there, left in there There's a man on the horizon Wish that I'd go to bed If I fall to his feet tonight Will allow rest my head So here's hoping I will not drown Or paralyze in light And godsend I don't want to go To the seal's watershed Hope there's someone Who'll take care of me When I die, Will I go Hope there's someone Who'll set my heart free Nice to hold when I'm tired

My Chemical Romance I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way. For all the dirty looks, the photographs your boyfriend took, Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor? I'm not okay I'm not okay I'm not okay You wear me out What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems? (I'm not okay) I told you time and time again you sing the words but don't know what it means (I'm not okay) To be a joke and look, another line without a hook I held you close as we both shook for the last time take a good hard look! I'm not okay I'm not okay I'm not okay You wear me out Forget about the dirty looks The photographs your boyfriend took You said you read me like a book, but the pages all are torn and frayed I'm okay I'm okay! I'm okay, now (I'm okay, now) But you really need to listen to me Because I'm telling you the truth I mean this, I'm okay! (Trust Me) I'm not okay I'm not okay Well, I'm not okay I'm not o-f**king-kay I'm not okay I'm not okay (Okay)

My name seems to keep cropping up these days with terms such as 'too far gone'. Must be the company I keep, bad influences and all that. ;)

LOVE'S A GAME - The Magic Numbers Oh, maybe I think maybe I don't Maybe I will maybe I won't Find my way this time I hear you're calling me soon One of these days Some of these days, and somebody pays It happens all the time I'll believing, believing you wanted me to And maybe I'm a fool for walking in line And maybe I should have tried to leave this time I'm an honest mistake that you made Did you mean to? Did you mean? Oh, did you mean? Love is just a game Broken all the same And I will get over you Love is just a lie Happens all the time Swear I know this much is true Oh, and they coloured you up They coloured you down, they coloured you in And I've been waiting so long To take you home And maybe I think, maybe I don't Maybe I will, maybe I won't Find my way tonight But I hear you're calling me soon And maybe I'm a fool for walking in line And maybe I should have tried to leave this time I'm an honest mistake that you made Did you mean to? Did you mean? Oh, did you mean? Love is just a game Broken all the same And I will get over you Love is just a lie Happens all the time Swear I know this much is true And maybe I'm a fool for walking in line And maybe I should have tried to leave this time I'm an honest mistake that you made Did you mean to? Did you mean? Oh, did you mean? Love is just a game Broken all the same And I will get over you Love is just a lie Happens all the time Swear I know this much is true

CB How about a couple of Temptations songs:- Take A Look Around Feather in your cap if you catch a robber, Dirt in your face if your scheme falls through Pay close attention to my story Youll find every word is true. Junk man standing on the corner Selling death, no concience has he. In the name of God, wont somebody stop him stop him, think about the children Its a matter of life and death, you see. Aint no time to stand back and point your finger, Weve got to face reality. No, no, no, no, no... Dont turn your back on this problem, people, too much depends on you and me. Desprate with no sense of value, just an evil mind lurking through the night. Because of you, the streets aint safe no more for walking, cause youre feeling so up-tight. Take a look around. Ball Of Confusion 1, 2... 1, 2, 3, 4, Ow! Eddie: People moving out, people moving in. Why, because of the color of their skin. Run, run, run but you sure can't hide. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Vote for me and I'll set you free. Rap on, brother, rap on. Dennis: Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the...(preacher.) And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the...(teacher.) Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration, Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation. Ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey. Paul: The sale of pills are at an all time high. Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky. The cities ablaze in the summer time. And oh, the beat goes on. Dennis: Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul. Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon. Politicians say more taxes will solve everything. Melvin: And the band played on. So, round and around and around we go. Where the world's headed, nobody knows. [Instrumental] Oh, great googalooga, can't you hear me talking to you. Just a ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today. Woo, hey, hey. Eddie: Fear in the air, tension everywhere. Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record's a gas. Dennis: And the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation. Melvin: And the band played on. Eve of destruction, tax deduction, city inspectors, bill collectors, Mod clothes in demand, population out of hand, suicide, too many bills, Hippies moving to the hills. People all over the world are shouting, 'End the war.' Melvin: And the band played on. [Instrumental] Great googalooga, can't you hear me talking to you. Sayin'... ball of confusion. That's what the world is today, hey, hey. Let me hear ya, let me hear ya, let me hear ya. Sayin'... ball of confusion. That's what the world is today, hey, hey. Let me hear ya, let me hear ya, let me hear ya, let me hear ya, let me hear ya. Sayin'... ball of confusion. Pat x
