This has been going round my head all day lol The Cure - In Between Days Yesterday I got so old I felt like I could die Yesterday I got so old It made me want to cry Go on go on Just walk away Your choice is made Go on go on And disappear Go on go on Away from here And I know I was wrong When I said it was true That it couldn’t be me and be her Inbetween without you Without you Yesterday I got so scared I shivered like a child Yesterday away from you It froze me deep inside Come back come back Don’t walk away Come back come back Come back today Come back come back Why can’t you see Come back come back Come back to me And I know I was wrong When I said it was true That it couldn’t be me and be her Inbetween without you Without you |

Detroit City #2 Ben Colder AKA Sheb Wooley (Original Detroit City was Bobby Bare) Guitar intro That's right Leroy, tune it up with the drum, that sounds real good Now I don't wanna go home Why should I I don't wanna go home Nobody wants to go home I'll tell you why. Last night I took a nap in Detroit city And I dreamed about my papa's old cotton patch My poor back was breakin', 'oh' Both my knees was ackin', 'ah' The red bugs kept on bitin', 'ow' But I didn't have time to scratch, 'oh gosh' Oh heck fire, Leroy, I thought you had it in tune there once! Got a little slippage! Well, Bobby I hear you're leavin' Detroit city Goin' back to the hills in Tennessee But I'll still make the cars And I'll still make the bars Lots greasy little women To keep me company You see I work in this automobile factory in Detroit city In the shock exsorber (sic) division Did you ever took inside one of them shock exsorbers? 'No' Well, they jot a little old round washer right in the top of 'em, see And my job is to cram this little round washer into every one of them shock exsorbers that comes down that long conveyer belt, 'yeah' Heck, I only been there six years and I'm already the number one washer crammer in the whole shock exsorber division Well, all right, fine, etc That's right I don't wanna go home I don't wanna go home Nobody wants to go home I may have to send Leroy home if he don't get that durned thing in tune C'mon, Leroy, keep tryin' son, don't give up for a minute Play like Grady Martin if you get the chance. |

Sharon actually quite likes that song Bec. I dislike Craig David on principle... he's SO self absorbed, have heard some hilarious quotes from him on the radio recently. |

*knows she will probably get told off by Paul (AGAIN)* DON'T LOVE YOU NO MORE (I'M SORRY) - Craig David [VERSE 1] For all the years that I've known you baby I can't figure out the reason why lately you've been acting so cold (didn't you say) If there's a problem we should work it out So why you giving me the cold shoulder now Like you don't even wanna talk to me girl (tell me) Ok I know I was late again I made you mad and then it's throwing the pan But why are you making this drag on so long (i wanna know) I'm sick and tired of this silly games (silly games) Don't figure that I'm the only one here to blame It's not me here who's been going round slamming doors That's when you turned and said to me I don't care babe who's right or wrong I just don't love you no more. [CHORUS] Rain outside my window pouring down What now, your gone, my fault, I'm sorry Feeling like a fool cause I let you down Now it's, too late, to turn it around I'm sorry for the tears I made you cry I guess this time it really is goodbye You made it clear when you said I just don't love you no more [VERSE 2] I know that I made a few mistakes But never thought that things would turn out this way Cause I'm missing something now that your gone (I see it all so clearly) Me at the door with you inner state (inner state) Giving my reasons but as you look away I can see a tear roll down your face That's when you turned and said to me I don't care babe who's right or wrong I just don't love you no more. [CHORUS] Rain outside my window pouring down What now, your gone, my fault, I'm sorry Feeling like a fool cause I let you down Now it's, too late, to turn it around I'm sorry for the tears I made you cry I guess this time it really is goodbye You made it clear when you said I just don't love you no more [BRIDGE] Don't say those words it's so hard They turn my whole world upside down Girl you caught me completely off guard On the night you said to me I just don't love you more. [CHORUS 2X] Rain outside my window pouring down What now, your gone, my fault, I'm sorry Feeling like a fool cause I let you down Now it's, too late, to turn it around I'm sorry for the tears I made you cry I guess this time it really is goodbye You made it clear when you said I just don't love you no more |

Hi Paul, quite different from previous albums, but fast becoming my favorite of them all. Hard to pick my favorite track, but Landlocked Blues with Emmylou Harris is special. Also love Lua, but Road to Joy is the one still playing in my head after listening to the CD. Guess because I also love Beethoven eh? Thanks for this great thread by the way. Patty x |

Road to joy. by Bright eyes. The sun came up with no conclusions Flowers sleeping in their bed The city's cemeteries humming I'm wide away it's morning And I have my drugs, I have my woman They keep me from loneliness My parents they have their religion But sleep in separate houses I read the body count out of the paper And now it's written all over my face And no one ever plans to sleep out in the gutter But sometimes that's just the most comfortable place So I'm drinking, breathing, writing, singing Every day I'm on the clock My mind races with all my longings But can't keep up with what I've got So I hope I don't sound too ungrateful What history gave modern man A telephone to talk to strangers Machine guns and a camera lens So when your're asked to fight a war that's over nothing You know it's best to join the side that's gonna win And no one's sure how all of this got started But we're gonna make em God damn certain how it's gonna end Well I could have been a famous singer If I had someone else's voice But a failure always sounded better Let's F--- it up boys, make some noise The sun came up with no conclusions Flowers sleeping in their beds The city's cemeteries humming I'm wide awake, it's morning |

Consequence free. by Great Big Sea Wouldn't it be great, if no one ever got offended Wouldn't it be great, to say what's really on your mind And I have always said, all the rules are made for bending And if I let my hair down, would that be such a crime I wanna be, consequence free I wanna be, where nothing needs to matter I wanna be, consequence free Just sing Na na na, nan na neh a na na I could really use, to lose my Catholic concience Cause I'm really sick, of feeling guilty all the time I won't abuse it, yeah I've got the best intenetions For a little bit of anarchy, but not the hurting kind I couldn't sleep all night, cause I had so much on my mind I'd like to leave it all behind, but you know it's not that easy, oh for just one night. Wouldn't it be great, if the band just never ended We could stay out late, and we would never hear last call We wouldn't need to worry, about approval or permission We could slip off the edge, and never worry about the fall I wanna be, consequence free I wanna be, where nothing needs to matter I wanna be, consequence free Just sing, Na na na, na na neh ah na na. |

and another..... Movies of Myself Stop me falling down, stop me making movies of myself Put that old dog down, stop me making movies of myself Bring the carriage 'round, get me to the garden of sleep Make that high gate speak, Perrier out of a paper bag Looking like a hag And start giving me something A love that is longer than a day Start making my heart sing something that it doesn't want to say I'm handing it over, I'm saying that you're the only one Don't run for the border, turn that corner Already you've run in movies of myself Darling don't you ever let go Wrap your loving arms around me While the cold winds blow Tell me what I really want to know Cause I'm looking for a reason, a person, a painting A Saturday Evening Post Edition by Jesus An old piece of bacon never eaten by Elvis So I'll say start giving me something A love that is longer then a day Start making my heart say something it doesn't want to say I'm handing it over, I'm singing that you're the only one Don't run for the border, turn that corner In movies on myself Oh I've seen it all before in movies of myself |

This is dedicated to a 'friend' Siouxie and the Banshees Voodoo Dolly She's your little voodoo dolly and she's gonna make you lazy like the little drum in your ear transfixes you to your fear And now she's transfixed in your fear and you know she's gonna stay there because her nails are deep in your hair and she made you so......unaware Are you listening to your fear the beat is coming nearer like the little drum in your ear transfixes you to your fear She's such an ugly little dolly and she's making you look very silly and when you listen in to her ear you get paralysed with her fear Oh down......down in your fear Now this little voodoo dolly has made you very lazy and you're anemic from her sucking and when your dead she'll find another Better break that little dolly and sling her in the corner Now she's a sorry little dolly such a sorry little dolly Are you listening to your fear the beat is coming nearer like that little drum in your ear transfixing you to your fear listen...... |

Happy House (should be named Genes house) Siouxie and the banshees This is the happy house-we're happy here in the happy house oh it's such fun We've come to play in the happy house and waste a day in the happy house-it never rains We've come to scream in the happy house We're in a dream in the happy house We're all quite sane This is the happy house-we're happy here There's room for you if you say 'I do' but don't say no or you'll have to go we've done no wrong with our blinkers on It's safe and calm if you sing along This is the happy house-we're happy here in the happy house. To forget ourselves-and pretend all's well There is no hell. |
