NEW ORDER '1963' It was January, 1963 When Johnny came home with a gift for me He said I bought it for you because I love you And I bought it for you because it's your birthday, too He was so very nice, he was so very kind To think of me at this point in time I used to think of him, he used think of me He told me to close my eyes My gift would be a great surprise I saw tears were in his eyes He never meant to hurt me Oh, God, Johnny, don't point that gun at me There's so many ways our lives have changed But please, I beg, don't do this to me Johnny, don't point that gun at me Can I save my life at any price? For God's sake won't you listen to me? And though he was ashamed that he had took a life Johnny came home with another wife And he often remembered how it used to be Before that special occasion, 1963 There was too many ways that you could kill someone Like in a love affair, when the love is gone He told me to close my eyes My gift would be a great surprise I saw hatred in his eyes He never meant to hurt me Oh, God, Johnny, don't point that gun at me There's so many ways our lives have changed But please, I beg, don't do this to me Johnny, you keep on using me Can I change my life for any price? Oh, Johnny, won't you listen to me? He told me to close my eyes My gift would be a great surprise I saw hatred in his eyes But he never meant to hurt me Oh, God, Johnny, don't point that gun at me There's so many ways our lives have changed But please, I beg, don't do this to me Johnny, you keep on using me Can I change my life for any price? Oh, Johnny, won't you listen to me? I just want you to be mine, I don't want this world to shine I don't want this bridge to burn Oh, Johnny, do you miss me? I just want to feel for you I will always feel for you... |

Paul - she is !!! For a bit of balance... Midnight to six man For the first time from Jamaica Dillinger and Leroy Smart Delroy Wilson, your cool operator Ken Boothe for UK pop reggae With backing bands sound systems And if they've got anything to say There's many black ears here to listen But it was Four Tops all night with encores from stage right Charging from the bass knives to the treble But onstage they ain't got no roots rock rebel Onstage they ain't got no...roots rock rebel Dress back jump back this is a bluebeat attack 'Cos it won't get you anywhere Fooling with your guns The British Army is waiting out there An' it weighs fifteen hundred tons White youth, black youth Better find another solution Why not phone up Robin Hood And ask him for some wealth distribution Punk rockers in the UK They won't notice anyway They're all too busy fighting For a good place under the lighting The new groups are not concerned With what there is to be learned They got Burton suits, ha you think it's funny Turning rebellion into money All over people changing their votes Along with their overcoats If Adolf Hitler flew in today They'd send a limousine anyway I'm the all night drug-prowling wolf Who looks so sick in the sun I'm the white man in the Palais Just lookin' for fun I'm only Looking for fun |

Depeche Mode 'Judas' Is simplicity best Or simply the easiest The narrowest path Is always the holiest So walk on barefoot for me Suffer some misery If you want my love If you want my love Man will survive The harshest conditions And stay alive Through difficult decisions So make up your mind for me Walk the line for me If you want my love If you want my love Idle talk And hollow promises Cheating Judases Doubting Thomases Don't just stand there and shout it Do something about it You can fulfil Your wildest ambitions And I'm sure you will Lose your inhibitions So open yourself for me Risk your health for me If you want my love If you want my love If you want my love If you want my love |

ok.... this song lasted 3 minutes and 43 seconds it was called this song I brought a song into this world Just a melody with words It trembles here before my eyes How can this song survive? I brought it to the tower of gold In my coat of many holes I came unarmed, they've all got knives How can this song survive? Oh now, I can't help wondering how it is How someone like you exists When all around you bullets fly You don't seem to notice them go by How can this song survive? I'll never leave this song alone I'm gonna keep it safe and warm For hate is strong and darkness thrives How can this song survive? Oh now, I see the game I'm up against No wonder I feel so afraid For every song you ever heard How many more have died at birth Oh how, how can this song survive? I brought a song into this world Just a melody with words It trembles here before my eyes How can this song survive? I came unarmed, they've all got knives How can this song survive? Until we finally say goodbye How, how can this song survive I wonder how, I wonder why… this song was by Ron xx |

Jeannie's Diary by Eels (Mark 'E' Everitt, another great songwriter) How does her world spin Without me in her nest? Could there really be such happiness? Oh, she's got a dark side too Even murderous But i love that Just like her I don't have a chance at writing the book I just wanna be a page In Jeannie's diary One single page In Jeannie's diary Yes i am intense Maybe quite obsessed Everything she does is curious Oh, she's going to let me in I just know it's so Then again, who do i kid? I don't have a chance at writing the book I just wanna be a page In Jeannie's diary One single page In Jeannie's diary She could have anything she wants So why not me? She could have anything she dreams Oh, to be one single page One single page In Jeannie's diary |

NEW ORDER 'Bizarre Love Triangle' Every time i think of you I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find Living a life that I can't leave behind There's no sense in telling me The wisdom of a fool won't set you free But that's the way that it goes And it's what nobody knows While every day my confusion grows Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say I feel fine and I feel good I'm feeling like I never should Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday I'm not sure what this could mean I don't think you're what you seem I do admit to myself That if I hurt someone else Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say |

Mansun 'Wide open space' I’m in a wide open space, I’m standing I’m all alone and staring into space It’s always quiet thru’ my ceiling The roof comes in and crashes in a daze I’m in a wide open space, it’s freezing You’ll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me I’m in a wide open space, I’m staring There’s something quite bizarre I cannot see I’m on the top of a hill, I’m lonely There’s someone here to shout to miles away I could be back in my house, for I care They do not hear me, it’s the same old case |

Superb debut album.... Audio Bullys... It was early I woke up Still had a joint, so I puffed Shouldn't of, coz it got me stoned and my mum just moaned 'Simon its time to get a job, you're 20 years old and you're living like a slob' but there's so many things i wanna do ma' i need money and I wanna get a new car 'Simon what do you mean?' I've got a plan - it'll all be clean got the joints and the beats rollin' got the tunes on the decks strollin' As I walk through my mind all my thoughts are behind when there's deals being signed and there's walls gettin' climbed and there's things that we bring when we fling with the sing and we want to be in from the start to the fin is it me? is it them? is it you or your friends? there's no need to pretend that your mind's on the mend is the past in your eyes, are your hands on your thighs coz you cannot disguise that you needed a rise If I had the time then i'd spend a little more with you and if I had a hundred million then i'd probably give half to you Lord of the standard, lord of the landlords I've been living on the shores of the canyon pretty girls and ugly guys twisted dreams and purple skies back to basics - forward to basics norms are daytrips - minds are brain-tripped what's the main lick? what's the main trip? -it's like this For all my fella's that sip the Stellas, DJ's, Grafters, and drug sellers To the geeks there's no need to be jealous we're just doin' our thing If I had the time then i'd spend a little more with you and if I had a hundred million then i'd probably give half to you I just don't know about the way I just wished I had some more days in my book call you up and give you a look If I had the time then i'd spend a little more with you and if I had a hundred million then i'd probably give half to you From the edge of the land - Who's that man? Doin' things that you can't understand broken or fixed token or tripped how many things we can throw in the mix two thousand sales into two comin' through it's the Audio Crew don't bother doin' if it don't sound smooth as we step with nothing to prove For all my fella's that sip the Stellas, DJ's, Grafters, and drug sellers To the geeks there's no need to be jealous we're just doin' our thing |

LOL Paul yeah well Rick knows some wicked Reggae music judging by what he has listed as faves some of those tracks would (hopefully) change your mind. Lee Perry productions from the mid - late 1970's are amongst the classic stuff worth checking out. Pat x |

its not that I dislike Reggae Pat, just haven't really listened to any, so can't claim to be a fan. To me, a good song is a good song, whatever the genre. |

'HURT' - NINE INCH NAILS I hurt myself today, to see if I could feel I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real The needle tears a hole, the old familiar sting Try to kill it all away, but I remember everything. What have I become, my sweetest friend Everyone I know, goes away in the end You could have it all, my empire of dirt I will let you down, I will make you hurt. I wear this crown of shit, upon my liar's chair Full of broken thoughts, I cannot repair Beneath the stain of time, the feeling disappears You are someone else, I am still right here. What have I become, my sweetest friend Everyone I know, goes away in the end You could have it all, my empire of dirt I will let you down, I will make you hurt. If I could start again, a million miles away I would keep myself, I would find a way. *So do I report myself now or what? Patty |

Subhumans. 'Susan' Susan finished school at 16 Wants to be a secretary 2 years later she's got nowhere Ends up in a factory Making matches it's so boring She gets sad and so depressed Hears her doctor smugly tell her 'Take these pills and get some rest' But she takes it one step further Parents rescue her in time Smile and tell her 'When you're married Everything will be just fine' She recovers and gets married further shuts the closing door Though he says 'I really love you' She feels worse off than before 9 months later she's a mother It's a bouncing baby boy 'Oh how super!' say her parents But for her there is no joy Words like mummy don't mean nothing It's all she hears from 9 to 5 All alone at number 19 Every single day she dies 19 years of hollow cliche Now she wants to end it all Bored to death from doing nothing Family drives her up the wall Swinging Susan hanged herself She couldn't live her pointless life He comes home to see through tears The rigid corpse that was his wife The life and times of Susan Strange Ended in that tragic way With the money from insurance The family went on holiday Nothing left but rotting flowers On an unattended grave The epitaph has faded badly No one reads it anyway Steve. |
