I'm Vegetarian. So dont eat any meat, or fish. Hate Angling, it is cruel if you ask me. I buy free range eggs only, and I can afford them.

I think more than 100,000 GBP is used to save a human life in RTA's.

Unknown Report 5 Nov 2005 18:15

Peter This country does a huge amount to stop people becoming victims of RTAs and I don't really see that it's a relevant argument. And our country is so not short of funds - it's just so much of it is misdirected. This issue is not a question of cost - it's about right and wrong.

I used to work with King's Lynn local anti-hunt protester. He always used to have boards etc in the town centre. The pictures were grim. Made everyone who walked into Somerfields chuck!

If anyone would like accurate information about foxes, just Google 'National Fox Welfare Society'. It's all there, written by experts in fox behaviour, and it quotes what is and isn't legal regarding foxes and their interaction with humans. Worth a read, whether you're for or against hunting. I'm country folk and I used to have a horse. I've hunted twice. The second time I saw the kill - and that's what made me anti-hunting. Gwynne

Not a surprise Peter came in with is negative anti labour thread, Peter do you never agree with anything labour bring in?

Unknown Report 5 Nov 2005 18:00

Peter I'm quite happy for my taxes to pay for the legislation - it isn't a waste of time as it's made fox hunting with hounds illegal. Good thing. There are loads of other things I object my taxes going to though:)

Toothfairy Report 5 Nov 2005 17:58

I am pleased that my hard earned tax was put to good use. and to answer your question 'and for what'...for the hundreds or foxes that are treated appaulingly in this country every year. i will NEVER put a price on a life. x

SHAME ON YOU MR. GOULD!! (yes i am shouting!) I would love to hunt you down with my dogs across the british countryside - just as folk would have done and enjoyed MORE than forty years ago..however, i am a law abiding citizen and since it has been deemed ILLEGAL i shall refrain, although it is something i would really enjoy...x

I live in the middle of hunting country, and I'm loathed by local hunters. Someone came round with a petition before asking us to support the local hunt, just before the ban came into force. I said some words which shall not be repeated. EVER!

Dave I'm country folk:) and I loathe hunting and I have a massive problem with the so called Countryside Alliance making out that they represent us all.

All I'll say on this is that around here (hunting country), the pro hunting people contradict their arguments to keep hunting going. And I've found them to be very arrogant people. I'm ashamed to say that I used to be pro-hunt, until I saw for myself what actually happens, while the hunters deny what I've seen!! x

One thing I hate about fox hunting with dogs is that when they have Soooooo many dogs, sometimes even hundreds, how can they give a dog indivdual care and treatment? Surely it'll be hard, or impossible to notice if one dog is poorly.

No the country folk wont disagree......... your average commoner farmer kills only foxes that are a nusiance on their land in a humane way. Although Northern Ireland is part of the UK we don't have a ban here. We have stag hunting here too ( althought the meat is eaten ) however they are more arrogant then fox hunters and will tramble on your land/garden whatever!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I understand that mainland England are to take thier hunting to FRANCE......if they do they are in for a short sharp shock .......... LOL!!

Paul

Paul Report 5 Nov 2005 17:14

I'm country folk myself! I hate it, my next door neighbour supports it, we've had blazing rows before, but in general we got on ok with them!
