Fairly straightforward to reach by train. From London get on a GNER train, change at Darlington then local Northern service train to Middlesbrough. Some GNERs do stop at Northallerton, and you can change there and get a TransPennine Express train to Middlesbrough.

This postie will come along, as long as I don't get sent to the wrong address (chortle) I live in Hemmo Babs, but you won't hold that against me will you? Have you thought of a venue yet, may I suggest the Blue Bell in Acklam?, it has a function room, accomodation (reasonably priced) and is very easy to find for anyone not familiar with the area.
