12.30 - Chelmsford Station for 1.00 at the venue. It would be great if there'll be someone else who knows Chelmsford (like Steedie) so that if necessary I can stay at the station for any stragglers. Am trying to find info for carparks but it's not easy. xx |

I kind of know Chelmsford...not too sure where the meet is though. if i come im happy to hang around at the station for a while. I dont mind giving my number out and if anyone is late they can let me know and i can hang around for them...erm i will let you know if we come tomoro and then if you want bec i'll pm you? |

Have just phonjed my dad to see if he knows of any near car parks which are free or just for general public...left a message and waiting for him to call back.... Dont hold your breath though he has a memory like mine |

Steedie - That'd be handy. I know there are carparks there but not sure how much they cost! The one near Hylands Park would probably be the closest. |

There are no free car parks in Chelmsford and the Parking Attendants are ba****ds. We normally use a scooter to go into town. There are plenty of car parks, though, including a multi-storey one at the market, surface ones in Waterhouse Lane, Navigation Road (by the Essex Records Office) and The Meadows. Or Broomfield Road (other side of the station) or Coval Lane (by the Fire Station) and there is one long stay multistorey right by the station (Townfield Street), approached from Broomfield Road . Some are short stay, some long stay, not sure on prices but Navigation Road is £3.20 or £3.50 for the day. The car parks are well signposted with remote indicators in some cases showing how many spaces left. NB< Hylands Park is miles away: are you sure you mean that, Bec? NNB: I have to ring the bells for a wedding in Broomfield, so will probably get there just after 1.00. |

Bec, et al. I am really sorry that I shall not be there. I should have given my reason earlier. I had hoped to combine the meet with ''ancestor research''. However, I am still not fighting (?!) fit since my fall in December, and this is why I shall not be there. I had been so looking forward to it. I am sorry. :-) Joy |
